NFL Draft Player Predictions and Betting Odds
I'm sure many of you NFL fans are also followers of the college game. And with the 2024 NFL Draft rapidly approaching, you are probably curious about who will draft your favorite player.
There are some teams who want to win right now and others with rebuilding on their mind. Today, we will differentiate between the two. That will help us predict where these likely NFL stars will be drafted.
We included several superstars for you, including two quarterbacks who are both projected to go very early. Along with them, we have potential landing spots for the #1 tight end and a top-three running back in the draft.
Let’s get to our best bets for who will draft one of these incredible athletes.
Doc’s Sports offers NFL expert picks for every game on our NFL predictions page.
Blake Corum
Los Angeles Chargers: +190
New York Giants: +350
Dallas Cowboys: +750
Minnesota Vikings: +1200
Baltimore Ravens: +1400
Michigan running back Blake Corum is a sensational talent, a national champion, and a player who can make a difference for a team in his first year.
With that said, he is still a running back. The LA Chargers are the favorite here to draft Corum. This is because his former college head coach, Jim Harbaugh, is now the man under the headset in Los Angeles.
With the kid projected to go in the late 2nd or early 3rd round, I say a certain Dallas Cowboy owner with an eye for a big name may take him early. Jerry Jones beats Harbaugh to the punch this week and drafts Corum to be their next Zeke.
Pick: Dallas Cowboys (+750)
Bo Nix
Denver Broncos: +150
Minnesota Vikings: +475
Los Angeles Rams: +500
Las Vegas Raiders: +600
New York Giants: +700
The former Oregon Duck quarterback, the now 24-year-old from Arkadelphia, Arkansas, has a ton of experience playing at the highest level in college.
He spent the first half of his career at Auburn before finishing up his final two years of eligibility in Eugene. Some scouts have wondered if he was so good, why he spent so much time playing in college.
I think it was a smart decision, and he has shown significant improvement from season to season. Nix does remind me a bit of a young Drew Brees…
Let’s go with the writing on the wall and hope Sean Payton sees the same thing we do.
Pick: Denver Broncos
Michael Penix Jr
Las Vegas Raiders: +200
Minnesota Vikings: +425
Denver Broncos: +550
Seattle Seahawks: +700
New York Giants: +750
The runner-up in Heisman Trophy voting to LSU's Jayden Daniels, Michael Penix Jr, out of Washington, is a very dynamic player. Some worry about the weak defenses from the Pac-12, but I am not buying that. Williams and Nix had to play against the same teams.
Penix reminds me a lot of Michael Vick. He has that flick. And with seemingly just his elbow joint, the ball jumps out of his hands. That's a cool story until you struggle with accuracy like the former Virginia Tech Hokie did for the majority of his career.
For this reason, along with injury concerns, Penix's stock has slipped. We are looking at several teams who may take a shot on the kid, but probably late in 1st round or early in the 2nd.
The Minnesota Vikings have the 11th and 23rd picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. With their second selection, they will surprise us and take Penix. His style of play is great for an indoor team.
Let's just hope for his sake the turf is kind when it needs to be.
Pick: Minnesota Vikings (+425)
Brock Bowers
New York Jets: +120
Indianapolis Colts: +400
Denver Broncos: +650
Cincinnati Bengals: +900
Los Angeles Chargers: +1000
Brock Bowers may have more of a typical tight end name than Bo Nix does as a quarterback. The two-time Mackey Award winner is a mountain of a man as you might expect.
He didn't win that award or two national titles without being a soft-handed incredible blocker, as well. The New York Jets know this, and so do the sportsbooks.
This team is not going to have another 2023, and a big step in solidifying a stronger offense outside of getting Aaron Rodgers back, is filling the tight end position.
Pick: New York Jets (+120)
