NFL Betting Predictions: Week 15 Opening Line Report and Picks

There are four weeks to go in the NFL season, and it is now do-or-die time for the Super Bowl hopefuls. The bye weeks wrapped up in Week 14, as all 32 teams will be in action for the last month of the year. Both conferences have wide-open races for the #1 seed, while the ‘race’ for the first overall draft pick is also heating up.
Last week, we went 1-2 on our picks. The New York Jets (+3) got smashed by the Miami Dolphins, while the Chicago Bears (+6.5) lost by seven against the Green Bay Packers. We had to wait until Monday night for our lone win of the week, as the Chargers (+3) beat the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime. Before we get into Week 15, here are the biggest storylines from an eventful Week 14.
- Titans win… at what cost? A win is a win in the NFL, but the Tennessee Titans may have set back their franchise with their Week 14 victory over the Cleveland Browns. They relinquished their grasp on the first overall draft pick, putting the Raiders on the clock if the season ended today.
- Colts are cooked: Indianapolis is still in the playoff race, but after dropping three straight, including a massive loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, their season is all but over. Daniel Jones tore his Achilles in the defeat, and you know times are tough when there are rumors around 44-year-old Philip Rivers returning.
- Bills win a thriller: Buffalo needed a big win over their AFC rivals, and they got it against Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Back-to-back picks for Joe Burrow in the fourth quarter all but eliminated the Bengals from the playoffs, as their slow start to the season was once again their demise.
- Chiefs, Ravens, or neither? Heading into the season, Baltimore and Kansas City were two of the Super Bowl favorites. Flash forward to today, and both sides are sitting with 6-7 records well outside the playoff picture. It is looking unlikely that either, let alone both, will make the playoffs, leaving the AFC wide open with four weeks to play.
- Texans on top: Houston’s defense will be a real problem in the playoffs, and consistent play from CJ Stroud could be enough to really put this team over the edge. They have won five straight, holding their opponents to 20 or fewer points (14.5 PPG) in their last four contests.
- Philly is free-falling: A healthy division lead combined with a lack of contenders in the NFC East means the Eagles will probably win the division this season. However, three straight losses and a general lack of confidence in the Eagles have them as NFC longshots for the #1 seed. This team feels like a far cry from their Super Bowl-winning side, and an overtime loss with some questionable coaching decisions just amplifies the noise in Philadelphia.
Now that Week 14 is in the past, we can get right into the Week 15 picks. Locking in these lines immediately will be crucial for success, as even a point or two in your favor can go a long way towards staying profitable this season.

Game 1: Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
Opening Line: Baltimore Ravens (-2.5)
The Cincinnati Bengals' loss to the Bills last week has all but eliminated them from playoff contention. A win against the Ravens would boost them from 1% to 3%, but with Trey Hendrickson now done for the season, that still makes a postseason berth very unlikely. Meanwhile, the Ravens have a legitimate shot of winning the AFC North after starting 1-5, and have all the momentum on their side. The Ravens have the better offense (by a hair), the better defense (by a lot), and have legitimate playoff hopes. Joe Burrow’s return has not fixed the Bengals' defensive issues, and their best pass rusher being out only adds gasoline to the dumpster fire on that side of the ball. The Ravens will not be happy with their 6-7 record, but they can get their season back on track with a big win in Cincinnati. The spread has the Ravens as a road favorite, which is usually a red flag in divisional games. However, with the spread under the key number of three, locking in Baltimore at this stage of the week gives us a real chance at securing massive closing line value. Anytime that is the case, it is hard to go wrong with a healthy and desperate Lamar Jackson.
Pick: Baltimore Ravens (-2.5)
Game 2: Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ers
Opening Line: San Francisco 49ers (-12.5)
It may be in the best interest of Tennessee to lose this game, but they still want to continue the development of Cam Ward in the final four weeks of the season. They certainly deserve to be underdogs against a well-rested 49ers side, but a healthy double-digit spread is far too wide. The Titans are coming off a big win against the Browns, and while that may not sound impressive, scoring 31 points against the Browns' defense is not an easy task. The Titans played well in all three phases last week, and while an outright win may be too much to ask, covering this big spread is more than possible. The 49ers only have two wins by more than 12 points this season, and expecting another blowout is not realistic. The 49ers’ offense hasn’t played up to its lofty standards, while its defensive miscues have been far more present than ever in the Kyle Shanahan era. The extra rest after a bye week is a factor for this big spread, but this line has ticked up a bit too high heading into Week 15. The Titans don’t want to win this game, but they do want to build some momentum, and a close 49ers win will leave both parties happy with their performances.
Pick: Tennessee Titans (+12.5)
Game 3: Minnesota Vikings at Dallas Cowboys
Opening Line: Dallas Cowboys (-5.5)
We can’t read into the Vikings' 31-0 demolition of the Washington Commanders, as the state of that franchise is truly disastrous. What it has done has made the public forget how bad the Vikings' offense really is. The Vikings used a 5-0 turnover advantage as well as a 2/2 conversion rate on fourth downs to run up the score. It is not as if JJ McCarthy was slicing up the defense, but he was able to take advantage of several short fields. Picking apart a Washington defense that ranks last in EPA/play is one thing, but doing it on the road in primetime against a hungry Dallas side is a whole other task. Dallas made wholesale changes on the defensive side of the ball to shore up their weak links, and now looks like a complete team. They have extra rest after losing a competitive one to the Lions last Thursday, and will be fully prepared for this matchup. Their explosive offense will be able to pick apart Minnesota, and I simply don’t trust the Vikings to keep up. This is a great time to buy low on a streaky Cowboys side while selling high on an overvalued Vikings team that is still one of the worst offensive units in the league. This spread could easily swell to a full touchdown by kickoff, making this a great play to lock in almost a full week in advance.
Pick: Dallas Cowboys (-5.5)
Season Record: 21-20-1
