Boise State Vs. TCU – Who Has the Upper-Hand in BCS Standings?
by T.O. Whenham - 10/26/2010
It was another tough weekend for undefeated teams in college football. Oklahoma fell in their first week atop the BCS rankings, and they were joined in the one-loss club by LSU and Oklahoma State. There are now just seven remaining unbeaten ranked teams. Two of those teams are particularly interesting to me. I’m a hopeless romantic, and I kinda like chaos, so the possibility of a Boise State vs. TCU BCS Championship Game, and the absolute mess that that would create, is something to dream about.
College Football Picks: Washington at Arizona Betting Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 10/23/2010
As usual, we are here to preview the final NCAA game of the night on Saturday because, let’s face it, its bettors’ final chance to either avoid a loss to the day or simply add to their winnings. Both these teams enter the weekend in a four-way tie at 2-1 for second in the Pac-10 behind unbeaten Oregon.
College Football Predictions: South Florida vs. Cincinnati Betting Odds and Picks
by Aaron Smith - 10/22/2010
The Cincinnati Bearcats will be showcased for a second straight week on ESPN Friday night football. This week, Cincinnati will host the South Florida Bulls in an important Big East matchup. The Big East is still wide open, and Cincinnati certainly has the talent to be near the top of the conference. South Florida is still establishing their identity under Skip Holtz, but they would love nothing better than to upset Cincinnati on national television. There will be plenty of talent on both sidelines this Friday night.
Week 8 College Football Picks and Odds
by T.O. Whenham - 10/22/2010
Last week was a split week with these picks. On one hand Utah did what I thought they would do - looked very impressive in beating up on a totally outmatched Wyoming team. That big gain was offset by a tough and surprising loss - I was seduced by Nevada and their pistol offense, but they were outplayed by a Hawaii team that continues to surprise this year - and to reward those bettors who back them. With these Week 8 college football picks and odds I’ll look to replicate the success of the Utah pick while avoiding the frustration of the Nevada one.
Heisman Trophy Odds and Betting Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 10/22/2010
I think that college football is the best sport there is. There are a lot of reasons for that, but one is because it changes so quickly. Every time you think you have everything figured out they play another week of games and everything gets turned upside down. Good teams don’t look so good anymore, top players falter, and we have to adjust our expectations time and again.
College Football Picks: UCLA at Oregon Betting Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 10/20/2010
Well, this looks like a massive blowout, right? After all, UCLA enters off a 35-7 loss to an average Cal team in which the Bruins’ 144 total yards were the fewest since they gained 114 against USC in 2001. Oregon, meanwhile, plays its first game ever as the nation’s top-ranked team and usually has 144 total yards by the end of the first quarter.
College Football Predictions: Free Picks from Strike Point Sports
by Strike Point Sports - 10/20/2010
The last couple of weeks in October have been particularly crazy in the world of college football. We’ve had consecutive weeks of the nation’s top team (AP and Coaches Polls) going down in defeat. Two weeks ago it was defending champs Alabama, who fell on the road to South Carolina. This past weekend it was the Buckeyes of Ohio State who crashed and burned in Madison to the Wisconsin Badgers.
Best and Worst Betting Teams Against College Football Lines
by T.O. Whenham - 10/20/2010
Here’s a look at the teams that have been very kind to bettors so far at the halfway point of the college football season, and the ones that have really struggled to reward bettors. All records are against the college football lines:
College Football Picks: Ohio State at Wisconsin Betting Odds and Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 10/16/2010
Newly minted No. 1 Ohio State will take on No. 16 Wisconsin at 7 p.m. on Saturday in a crucial Big Ten battle. This game will be played in Madison in front of a rowdy, passionate home crowd that will be looking for the home underdog – Ohio State is a four-point chalk – to pull a big-time upset.
Week 7 College Football Picks and Odds
by T.O. Whenham - 10/16/2010
It was a frustrating week for these football picks last week - Indiana and Auburn performed close to what I expected, but not quite good enough. That’s two frustrating weeks in a row - luckily we started off very strong. Here’s hoping that our Week 7 college football picks and odds get back on track.
College Football Picks: Cincinnati vs. Louisville Betting Odds and Preview
by Aaron Smith - 10/15/2010
The ESPN Friday night showcase will once again be a Big East matchup this week. The Cincinnati Bearcats will travel to Louisville to take on the Cardinals. The Bearcats are trying to bounce back after a disappointing start to this season, and the Cardinals are looking to get their program turned back around after last year’s disappointing finish. Last year, the Bearcats beat Louisville, 41-10, but those were two completely different teams. Expect a hard-fought battle in Louisville this Friday!
College Football Predictions: Which Undefeated Teams Will Stay That Way?
by T.O. Whenham - 10/15/2010
Six weeks of the college football season have come and gone. That has been enough time to expose the issues of a lot of teams, but not all of them. There are still 13 ranked teams that are undefeated. By the end of the season there will be far fewer - perhaps just a couple. Here’s a look at which of the unbeaten teams have a good shot at staying that way, and which ones should enjoy it while it lasts:
College Football Picks: South Florida at West Virginia Betting Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 10/14/2010
The Big East has been a laughingstock among the BCS conferences this year and on Thursday night’s ESPN game we get to see the lone ranked team in the conference with No. 25 West Virginia hosting USF. With Pitt, Cincinnati and UConn all starting slowly, it’s quite possible there will be no ranked teams come bowl season if WVU doesn’t carry its weight.
College Football Picks: Central Florida at Marshall Betting Odds
by Alan Matthews - 10/12/2010
The side has dropped a point from its opening of 6.5 at most books while the total has dropped a half-point at most books. Approximately 60 percent of the lean is on Central Florida. The Knights are 4-1 ATS this season while Marshall is 1-4, with the lone cover coming against West Virginia.
College Football Picks: San Jose State at Nevada Betting Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 10/9/2010
We’re back this week to preview the last game on the NCAA board on Saturday night, and since Hawaii is on the road it’s San Jose State-Nevada that offers your final betting option for the day. And let’s not kid ourselves: This game shouldn’t be remotely close, although the Wolf Pack (5-0) could be looking a bit ahead to traveling to Hawaii next week.
College Football Picks: Florida State vs. Miami Betting Odds and Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 10/9/2010
No. 24 Florida State and No. 14 Miami are set for a showdown for Sunshine State supremacy on Saturday. The Seminoles and Hurricanes will meet at 8 p.m. in South Florida for one of the ACC’s biggest rivalry games. Miami is set as the favorite but Florida State’s seniors will be looking for one last upset in one is one of the top rivalries in college football.
College Football Picks: Connecticut vs. Rutgers Betting Odds and Preview
by Aaron Smith - 10/8/2010
The Connecticut Huskies will head to New Jersey to take on Rutgers in ESPN’s Friday Night college football showdown this week. Rutgers is coming off a shocking home loss to Tulane, while the Huskies have won two straight after starting out the season in disappointing fashion. Greg Schiano’s Rutgers squad was the talk of college football just a few short years ago, but the program has fallen on hard times once again. Can Rutgers use this game as a springboard to get back on the right path?
Week 6 College Football Picks and Odds
by T.O. Whenham - 10/8/2010
It was a rough week last week for these football picks. Stanford looked very good early on, but got worse and worse as the game went on. Nevada won big like I expected them to, but just not quite big enough - a late UNLV score when the game was in hand ended my dreams of a cover. With these week 6 college football picks and odds we’ll look to reverse the trend and go back to what we had before last week - two straight perfect weeks.
College Football Picks: Nebraska at Kansas State Preview Predictions and Betting Odds
by Alan Matthews - 10/7/2010
In last year’s regular-season finale for Kansas State, the Wildcats traveled to Nebraska with the Big 12 North title and a spot in the conference championship game on the line. By now you no doubt know the Huskers won 17-3, which actually knocked a 6-6 KSU team from not only the Big 12 title game but also a bowl because two of those six wins were against FCS schools.
