NCAA Football Betting: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks Week 5
by Joey House - 9/29/2023
Due to technical difficulties, last week's "Fading the Top 25" went unpublished. While the picks wouldn't have been a clean sweep, we would not have suffered a loss, either, as our picks were 2-0-2. We would have won with Arkansas (+18) at No. 13 LSU (34-31 LSU win) and No. 21 Washington State (+3) vs. No. 14 Oregon State (38-35 Wash. St win) and pushed on the Rutgers (+24) at No. 2 Michigan and pushed with #6 Ohio State at #9 Notre Dame (+3).
College Football Totals Picks Week 5: Over or Under Predictions for Friday and Saturday
by Joey House - 9/29/2023
According to an article I found from an extremely reputable source, scoring through the first 5 weeks is down less than one point. The games have averaged 53.8 points per game, versus the 54.7 points per game all of last season. So, while there was some concern that the new clock rules would drastically alter scoring, that doesn't appear to be the case.
College Football Free Picks: Weekly Mid-Major Report and Predictions for Coastal Carolina (Chanticleers vs. Georgia Southern)
by Matt Zitt - 9/28/2023
The Chanticleers head into Saturday’s matchup with a 2-2 record after dropping a dud last week against Georgia State. The Chants never found their footing and trailed in the contest from the beginning of the game. Georgia State had a 17-3 lead at halftime after Coastal’s defense allowed a pair of 75-yard drives and a field goal right before the break. The Panthers were up 27-10 in the fourth quarter when their punter fumbled the snap and Abraham Temoney scooped up the loose ball and stepped two yards into the endzone to cut the deficit to 10 with seven minutes remaining in the game.
Weekly Public Action Football Betting Report with Predictions (Fifth Edition)
by Joey House - 9/28/2023
Welcome to the fifth week of the Public Action Report (PAR), where we identify games that feature reverse line movement and focus on handicapping them. PARs are a great way to continue your mid/late week gambling. They highlight when a line moves opposite, or "contrarian", to the money being wagered. This discrepancy can often be a valuable piece of information as it's usually best to fade the public's betting option whenever possible.
College Football Free Picks: Weekly Mid-Major Report and Predictions for James Madison Week 5
by Joey House - 9/27/2023
James Madison continued winning in every fashion possible, this time winning a wild 45-38 shootout at Utah State. The Dukes QB Jordan McCloud accounted for all six of the James Madison touchdowns, going 23-34 yards for 364 yards, 4 TDs, and 2 INTs, while chipping in 2 rushing TDs on 9 carries.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 5 Opening Line Report and Picks

Welcome to the Doc's Sports NCAA Opening Line Report, where we give you an early look at the upcoming week's important games. I'll analyze the opening line of select games that caught my attention and give a brief analysis of my initial lean. While we didn't win every bet last weekend, we also didn't lose any either, going 2-0-1 ATS.
Weekly Public Action Football Betting Report with Predictions (Fourth Edition)
by Joey House - 9/21/2023
As I had written earlier in the Opening Line Report, for the first time since September 2006, there are six Top 25 matchups. As luck would have it, one of them qualifies for the PAR system. We will get a chance to observe this system in prime time on Saturday night. Last week's PAR picks were 2-2, splitting in both college and NFL.
College Football Free Picks: Weekly Mid-Major Report and Predictions for James Madison Week 4
by Joey House - 9/20/2023
The Dukes kicked off the Sun Belt portion of their schedule last week with a visit to Troy, Alabama, to take on the Trojans of Troy. While the game wasn't pretty, JMU proved that it could win the low-scoring, hard-fought games. The offense had been the savior for the Dukes the first two games of the season, but the defense that was raved about in the pre-season showed why it garnered so much attention. Troy, the defending Sun Belt champs, threw for an impressive 333 yards and two touchdowns but had their QB sacked six times and had a total of -12 yards rushing.
College Football Free Picks: Weekly Mid-Major Report and Predictions for Coastal Carolina (Chanticleers vs. Georgia State)
by Matt Zitt - 9/19/2023
We finally had a game where we were not sweating the result if you took the spread as I instructed last week. Vegas did not release the spread and total until around noon last Saturday. The opening spread came out at -32 and bounced back and forth from -32 to -33 until kickoff. Fortunately for Chanticleer bettors, the game was never close and Coastal was already covering the spread at halftime.

Then, using Doc's trusted "Unit Betting System", I give the wagers to place that will hopefully maximize our investment. The standard unit will be $100.
NCAA Football Betting: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks Week 3
by Joey House - 9/15/2023
Unlike college football Week 1, there were no earth-shattering upsets in Week 2. Texas gave notice to what the SEC can expect next year, and two lower-ranked teams were bumped out of this week's Top 25. Our selections went 1-1, as Kansas State stayed focused against Troy and covered the 16.5 points. We rebounded, though, with Appalachian State almost winning at North Carolina as a 19-point dog.

Weekly Public Action Football Betting Report with Predictions
by Joey House - 9/14/2023
The one aspect of the PAR that is different this year than in seasons past is in order for a play to qualify, both the percentage of bets and the percentage of money have to align with the reverse movement. In addition to that, both keys must be above 60%. Other users of this system will sometimes use just one of the two as the indicator. However, if you only want to focus on one aspect, take note of the money, as it is the more important trend to follow. As the saying goes "Follow the money".
College Football Free Picks: Weekly Mid-Major Report and Predictions for James Madison Week 3
by Joey House - 9/13/2023
I said in last week's JMU Preview that teams playing under emotional circumstances, as Virginia was, either have their energy spent or use those emotions as additional energy. It looked the opposite at first for the Cavaliers, going down 17-7 in the first quarter. They cut that lead to 17-14 at the end of the first half. The locker room motivational speech worked for UVA because they scored with a 75-yard bomb on the first play from scrimmage in the 2nd half. Going into the 4th, UVA held a 35-24 lead, before James Madison scored two 4th quarter TDs, escaping with a 36-35 win (JMU went for two twice and missed on both).
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 3 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Joey House - 9/11/2023
While the storms that caused delays during numerous footballs this past Saturday have gone back out to sea, another storm is sweeping across the college football landscape and shows no signs of abating. Hurricane Deion is in full effect. The most talked about off-season hire has lived up to his billing. And if you took Colorado's season-win total before the Buffalos fired their first salvo against TCU, you're already halfway to cashing your ticket.
College Football Totals Picks Week 2: Over or Under Predictions for Saturday

NCAA Football Betting: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks Week 2
by Joey House - 9/8/2023
It was a rough start for our fading the Top 25 recommendations, as I posted a donut 0-3 ATS. No. 6 USC decided to play enough defense to cover their 38.5-point spread against Nevada, and ditto for Oregon State, winning as a 16.5-point favorite over San Jose State. In what was one of the sexy upset picks for many, Boise State got blown out against No. 10 Washington as a 14.5-point dog. Overall, the Top 25 teams were 19-3 SU, although the FSU-LSU game was the only contest between two ranked teams. The dogs were much more active against the spread (ATS), though, going 9-13 (including the Week 0 results).
College Football Free Picks: Weekly Mid-Major Report and Predictions for Coastal Carolina (Chanticleers vs. Jacksonville State)
by Matt Zitt - 9/7/2023
We were sweating bullets in that fourth quarter against UCLA, but the Chanticleers did just enough to cash in the 2-unit cover as CCU lost 27-13. We were not as fortunate with the over as both teams combined for only 40 points. However, we head into week 2 of Coastal Carolina’s season up one unit in total.
Weekly Public Action Football Betting Report with Predictions
by Joey House - 9/7/2023
Last week the Public Action Report was good at targeting reverse line movement. Since it is still early in the season, I'll cover my criteria once again. In order for a game to make my list, both the percentage of bets and money need to be on the opposing side of the line move. So, if all of the money and bets are going in on the favorite, but the spread shrinks instead of getting larger, then that game warrants a look. We are not advising to blindly bet on the recommended teams, but they definitely deserve a closer look. And this report has been solid in the past at targeting winners, especially later in the season.
