Take 'Under' 51.5 Boise State vs. Virginia (8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22)
I am thrilled to have provided you with a free pick winner in last week's newsletter on South Florida over Illinois. We take great pride in Doc Sports in providing you great free and paid content. Do you think Virginia remembers their throttling against Boise State the last time they played in 2015 by a score of 14-56? It was ugly. The Aggies still have that unreal choke against UCLA hanging over them. Arkansas has had two weeks to prepare for this game and lick its wounds after falling to TCU. But that 28-7 loss was a bit misleading, as it was 14-7 with less than three minutes left to play and Arkansas had two missed field goals. I think Arkansas is extremely motivated in this game and I think that they are more focused than the Aggies. I like the Razorbacks to get this win here. Take South Carolina (-8.5) over Louisiana Tech (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23)
South Carolina is coming off a horrible home loss to the Kentucky Wildcats last Saturday 23-13, and we should see a very mad Gamecocks team Saturday afternoon. Both teams come to Williams-Brice Stadium 2-1, and with the Gamecocks getting back-to-back home games I don't see them losing 2-straight home games. LA Tech beat Western Kentucky on the road last weekend 23-22, but the Bulldogs will struggle with the Gamecocks on Saturday. South Carolina scored only 13 points against the Wildcats defense last weekend but scored an average of 33 ppg before that Kentucky game, and Saturday I see a big offensive numbers coming out of the Gamecocks. My NFL 411 System is back this week! I needed a couple of weeks to get some statistics to plug into my system. Listed Pitchers: TB: M. Andriese (5-3, 4.44 ERA) Bal: J. Hellickson (2-5, 7.29 ERA); This pick falls into one of my top MLB systems, and the Orioles have hit .339 as a team lifetime against Andriese with an OBP of .367. Andriese has not lasted more than 5 innings over his last 3 starts, and he has given up 13 earned runs those last 3 starts (11 innings). Andriese has struggled on the road this season with an ERA of 5.83, and he has also struggled since the All-Star break with an ERA of 8.36 with opponents hitting .317 against him. The Orioles put up 11 earned runs over the last 15 innings they faced Andiese, which was last season, and I expect their bats to get going against him Thursday night. If you're a Philadelphia Phillies fan, you have to like the way the team has played in the second half of the season. Several young hitters in the lineup are coming into their own, and that bodes well for the future. The Braves also have a bright future with the #1 farm system in the majors and some guys already on the roster that are potential stars. With both teams out of the playoff chase, I think we'll see the offenses showcasing their respective talents on Saturday. I expect to see plenty of runs. The BC Lions will look will look to get things back on track after losing four of their last five games when they take on the lowly Hamilton Tiger-Cats at BC Place in Vancouver, BC on Friday night. The Lions have posted an 8-3 ATS record in their last eleven games where they faced a team with a losing record and they have gone an excellent 12-3-1 ATS in their last sixteen games following a straight up loss. The Tiger-Cats, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here on Friday as they have gone just 2-5 ATS in their last seven Friday night games and they are an awful 3-8-2 ATS in their last thirteen games following an ATS loss. They have also failed to cover the spread in eight of their last eleven road games and they are just 5-12-2 ATS in their last nineteen games overall going back to the middle of the 2016 season. Throw in the fact that the Lions are a perfect 4-0 ATS in the last four head-to-head meetings between the two teams and we're laying the points with them here to get the home win and cover in Vancouver on Friday evening.
