Basic strategy teasers faltered last week and only produced a 2-2 record, which is a rare losing situation for the wager. Heading into Week 3 there are four teaser options on the board, with three solid spots and an uncertain situation with the hapless New York Giants receiving more than a touchdown's worth of points at home. Basic strategy teasers are two-team, six-point wagers that allow bettors to move lines through the strongest NFL key numbers of three and seven.

Let's take a closer look at the four teaser options for Week 2 and figure out which have the most value to wager on. All lines come from Bovada.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

Line : Green Bay +1.5

Six-point teaser : Green Bay +8.5

Green Bay did not decide to show up for the 2014 NFL season until late in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets. The team was embarrassed by Seattle in Week 1 and gave up an early 18-point lead in its second game versus the Jets. The Packers managed to outscore New York 15-3 in the second half and get their season back on track.

Detroit, on the other hand, looked horrendous against Carolina last Sunday and managed to score only seven points during the game. The team's defense was nonexistent, and its offense was a far cry from its excellent performance during Week 1. Taking Green Bay plus the 8.5 points feels like the best teaser option on the board.

San Diego Chargers at Buffalo Bills

Line : Chargers +2.5

Six-point teaser : Chargers +8.5

The Chargers looked spectacular during last week's drubbing of the Seattle Seahawks. The team ran the ball with conviction and strength, while Philip Rivers looked like the version of himself we have always expected him to be. The game may have been a turning point for San Diego. Or it may have not. The Chargers are known for having huge let downs and putting together disappointing performances after producing great ones the week before.

Expect this matchup to be a close game between two teams playing with confidence and belief in their system. San Diego may not win this game, but their fluid offensive display from last week should continue and help the team kept the game close.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

Line: Browns +1.5

Six-point teaser : Browns +8.5

Cleveland put on a fantastic performance during last week's upset over New Orleans and nearly started the season 2-0 after last weeks almost-win against Pittsburgh. Quarterback Brian Hoyer has played well in the starting job and has Cleveland averaging 26 points per game.

Baltimore is also coming off an impressive victory over Pittsburgh where its defense shut down the inept Steelers offense and allowed only two field goals during the game. The Ravens are a small favorite and will probably win the game outright, but when you tease the Brown up to 8.5 points, taking the home team that is riding a wide of momentum feels like an excellent play.

Houston Texans at New York Giants

Line : Giants +2

Six-point teaser : Giants +8

Houston started the season off strong with two dominant wins and may be much better than the experts are predicting. This teaser is not the greatest spot to wager on the Giants and feels like the bet with the biggest odds to lose. New York lost its first two games by double-digit margins and is not the same frustrating-but-talented team from years past.

Eli Manning looks lost at times, and this season he is a far cry from elite quarterback we thought he was a few years ago. Betting on the Giants in any capacity this season could be a bad idea for bettors. New York could cover the spread-after all, they are getting eight points at home-but I would stay away from this teaser.
