This is an informal look into my weekly NFL notes as I take them from highlight shows, internet recaps, and my own eyes while watching games. Please excuse the informal look...consider this a weekly rough draft.

We enter the new football week on a 38-17 CFB & NFL winning run. We swept our big plays, winning with the Falcons in the NFL and Iowa State in college. We'll take an 11-1, 92% winning top play run into the new week and have a 7* Main Event in both Saturday's college football and Sunday's NFL. NFL WEEK 9 RECAP:

JETS 6-13 DOLPHINS: Darnold 21-39-229-0-4. Running game held in check again...defenses have figured it out...hold down Crowell -- put the onus of the offense on Darnold. Only TD in the game...a pick-6 by Miami. Osweiler game-managing well. Jets 11 ppg during 3 game skid. Darnold 6 games with 1 or no TD passes...team is 0-6.

FALCONS 38-14 REDSKINS: Matt Ryan 26-38, 350-4-1. Ryan 19 TDs only 3 INTs on the season. Coleman 13 carries 88 yards...68 yards receiving and 2 TDs. Julio Jones 7 rec 121 yards, 1 TD. Alex Smith 30-46-306-1-1. WASH banged up on the offensive line. Adrian Peterson held completely in check.

BUCCS 28-42 CAROLINA: Carolina 99 points last 9 quarters...really opening it up under Norv Turner. Cam 19-25-247-2. McCaffrey huge on the ground 17 carries...and 78 receiving yards...2 rushing TDs. Greg Olsen another big game with Cam. TBAY has allowed 40.3 ppg during 4 game road losing streak. Panthers 10 straight home wins. Fitzpatrick 24-40-243-4-2.

BEARS 41-9 BILLS: Nathan Peterman isn't a true starting QB...but he's getting no help from his offensive line or skill position players. Bills 81 plays, 9 points, 4 turnovers. Kahlil Mack missed his 2nd straight game. Bears 11 points from an 8-0 record. Sitting at 5-3.

LIONS 9-24 VIKINGS: Minnesota held Kerryon Johnson to 37 yards on 12 carries...Stafford in turn has to throw too many passes...25 of 36, 199 yards. Defenses figuring out -- stop K.Johnson -- stop the Lions. Stafford under constant pressure and Lions were held to 209 yards...lowest total in 8 years. Danielle Hunter had 3.5 sacks...Vikings had 10 sacks on the day. Lions Offense has done nothing in its last 2 games...0-3 in red zone on Sunday. Cousins 18-22-164-1-1. Cook 10 carries 89 yards. Minny 3-0 when rushing for 100 yards or more...had 128 on Sunday.

KC CHIEFS 37-21 BROWNS: Mahomes 23-32-375-3-1. Kareem Hunt...17 carries, 91 yards, 2 TDs, 50 rec yards and a rec TD. Have to stop Hunt if you're an opponent of KC's. Kelce 7 rec 99 yards...2 TDs. Mayfield 29-42-297-2-1. Nick Chubb 85 yards 22 carries - TD. You can run on KC...stating the obvious.

TEXANS 19-17 DENVER: Denver PK Brandon McManus missed 2 FGs including the potential game winner...51 yards with 3 seconds left...sliced it right of the goal posts. TE D.Thomas 61 yards on 3 grabs back in Denver. Houston started 0-3...now 6-3...first team to do that since the 1970 NY Giants, according to NBC sports. Up 3 games in the AFC South. DeShaun Watson - big improvement since the 0-3 start.

STEELERS 23-16 RAVENS: Pittsburgh got away with a few illegal picks including on a TD pass to James Conner. Conner 24-107 rushing...56 rec and 1 rec TD. Big Ben 28-47-270 2 TDs and 1 rushing TD. Josh Dobbs passing from his own endzone 2nd & 20 with Ben sidelined for a play. HUGE. Flacco 23-37-209. Pitt consecutive wins at Balt first time in 17 years. Pitt 14-1-1 SU last 16 road games. Ravens allowing 28 ppg during 3 game skid.

CHARGERS 25-17 SEAHAWKS: Russell Wilson pick-6 down 19-10. Wilson 26-39-235-2-1. Davis 62 yards on 15 carries. Chargers PK Sturgis has been 10 kicks in 6 games this season. Rivers 13-26-228-2. M.Gordon 16 rush 113 yards...TD. Sea incompletion in endzone in final play of the game. K.Allen 124 yards on 6 grabs. LAC defense allowing just 17 ppg during 5 game win streak. Rivers 19-3 TD-INT this season. Sea 4 losses by 20 points.

RAMS 35-45 SAINTS: Goff 28-40-391-3-1. Gurley 13-68 rushing, TD. Cooks and Kupp 11 rec 203 yards combined 2 TDs. Brees 25-36-346-4. Brees 18 TD 1 INT season. Kamara 19 rush 82 yards...2 TDs. Michael Thomas 12 rec 211 yards 1 TD. Saints 5 TDs first 6 drives. Rams 7 games with 30 or more points.

PACKERS 17-31 PATRIOTS: Pats averaged 6.3 yards per play. Ran for 123 yards. Patterson & White combined for 90+ yards rushing and 23 carries. Brady with another big day...and Gordon, White, Edelman = 17 rec 273 yards 1 TD.


TITANS 28-14 COWBOYS: Titans killed 2 birds with 1 stone: Mariota finally threw more than 2 TD passes in a game (3 on Monday) and Tennessee finally topped 24 points in regulation...it had been around 17 straight games without doing so. Amari Cooper not ready yet to make a difference in the Dallas downfield passing game.
