NFL Confidence Pool Picks Week 17

Welcome back to our weekly advice for another NFL week. I want to wish everyone happy holidays and that we all cash out big here to start off the new year. This week we have some insane value as we are getting a lot of these teams as short favorites. The race for a spot in the playoffs is coming to an end, as there are teams neck-and-neck trying to obtain a seat at the table. This week is going to be important as many teams will get knocked out of contention after this weekend. I want to wish you guys good luck on your bets and to your favorite team.

So, without further hesitation, here are our week 17 NFL confidence pool picks. As a reminder, these will be ranked from strongest to weakest. All picks are straight up and don’t involve the spread, so these picks can be valuable for NFL survivor pools and moneyline betting.

Philadelphia Eagles (-335) over New Orleans Saints: 16 Points

This is a bounce back spot for the Eagles after they suffered a tough loss to the Cowboys last week. In all fairness, Jalen Hurts did not play, and they were still able to put up 34 points on a very good Cowboys team. Even if Jalen Hurts doesn’t play, this game will end in an Eagles victory. This team is just too good.

San Francisco 49ers (-260) over Las Vegas Raiders: 15 Points

The 49ers have been quite impressive, as they have continued to pull wins away with their third-string quarterback. The Raiders are too inconsistent for me to bet on. I like the 49ers here, as their defense has been elite, and they have found every way to produce points on offense no matter who was out due to injury.

Kansas City Chiefs (-750) over Denver Broncos: 14 Points

The Chiefs win this game on offense. The Broncos play at a pace so slow that it almost bores me to death. The Broncos don’t have enough offense to keep up with the Chiefs in this matchup. The Chiefs will win this game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-162) over Carolina Panthers: 13 Points

The Buccaneers have been inconsistent, but as of right now they have a playoff spot. Nothing is more important to Tom Brady than making the playoffs. Look for him to lead the charge as the Bucs will be laser focused on securing the division in this game here. I don’t expect the Panthers to do much damage in this game.

Los Angeles Chargers (-300) over Los Angeles Rams: 12 Points

The Rams played an amazing game last week against the Broncos, putting up 51 points. Now, I don’t think their offense was that great. They won by a blowout, but Jerry Jeudy was still the top receiver. Baker Mayfield also had less than 250 yards. Now if they want to beat the Chargers, they need to pass the ball and do it consistently. The Chargers should win this game as they usually dominate the first half. I don’t think the Rams defense can stop this Chargers team for an entire game.

New York Giants (-230) over Indianapolis Colts: 11 Points

The Giants are fighting for the playoff spot, and they need to win. I trust them to get the job done here, as the Colts have not performed to their standards this year. There’s a lot of inconsistency with the Colts, and the Giants will do a great job of exploiting those. The Giants have a really smart coaching staff with a solid team. Look for the Giants to come out of this game with a win.

Dallas Cowboys (-480) over Tennessee Titans: 10 Points

The Cowboys win this game as they are absolutely unstoppable right now. This team is firing on all cylinders, and they can put up scores in a hurry. The Titans lack the ability to pass the ball consistently, and that’s going to hurt them in this game. Look for the Cowboys to have their way with the Titans. This game may move at a slow pace as the Titans run the ball a lot. If the Cowboys get up by double digits at any point in the game, that should seal the victory.

Jacksonville Jaguars (-215) over Houston Texans: 9 Points

This is a battle of two of the worst teams in the league. However, the Texans are a much worse team than the Jaguars. The Texans have no sense of how to move the ball on offense. They need to do some serious work in the off season. The Jaguars are good enough to beat teams like this, as they can compete with most teams. I expect the Jaguars to come out of this game with a win, as we continue to see the Texans fall once again.

Detroit Lions (-255) over Chicago Bears: 8 Points

The Lions have a potent offense, and I love it. I expect them to do some serious damage here, as they can score efficiently. I don’t see the Bears walking away with a victory here. If I was the Bears, I would keep tanking so I can get the best pick possible in the draft. The Lions will win this game!

New York Jets (-134) over Seattle Seahawks: 7 Points

The Jets have a good defense, which should give their former quarterback Geno Smith some trouble getting the Seahawks offense going. I don’t expect the Jets to win big here, but I do expect them to win by at least a field goal. The Jets have the better defense. And in games like this, I always like to back the better defense, as it usually is the safest bet. The Jets should win this game on the defensive side of the ball.

Washington Commanders (-132) over Cleveland Browns: 6 Points

The Commanders are very talented; they have a young team with a lot of playmakers. They will enter this game hungry and ready to win as they are also trying to make the playoffs. They have been very consistent this second half of the season even against opponents like this. I expect them to play a crisp game and make some big plays to win this game here. I don’t like the Browns much in this situation because they have nothing to gain from this game. Who knows if this will be used as a tanking spot for a better spot in the draft.

Baltimore Ravens (-166) over Pittsburgh Steelers: 5 Points

The Ravens should win this game here. There’s a high probability that Jackson won’t see the field for a couple more weeks. I expect them to get the job done even without Jackson as they have been playing well without him. There is pressure on them to win this game as a Ravens win here can lead to a tie for first place in the AFC North. The Bengals, who are in first place, take on the Bills, which is a tough task. Look for the Ravens to take advantage here and make a push to tie the division.

Minnesota Vikings (+160) over Green Bay Packers: 4 Points

The Vikings should win this game. I don’t care how much writers fade the Vikings; this team is just too good. They have an incredible offense, and I just can’t fade in this spot. They are winning the NFC North without a doubt, and this game is personal as the Packers have usually dominated their division. I expect the Vikings to dominate this matchup, as I’m pretty sure they are going to try and get Justin Jefferson to the 2,000-yard mark.

Buffalo Bills (-116) over Cincinnati Bengals: 3 Points

The Bills should win this game. This is going to be a true test for them. The Bills have a better defense than the Bengals, and that is key in this matchup as both offenses are lethal. One of the biggest edges in this game is that the Bengals don’t have a strong offensive line. Look for the Bills to exploit that in this matchup. When Joe Burrow doesn’t have the proper amount of time to throw the ball, the Bengals struggle heavily.

New England Patriots (-152) over Miami Dolphins: 2 Points

The Pats have a good defense that can shut down this Dolphins team that will most likely be playing without their star quarterback. Who knows what ends up happening with Tua Tagovailoa as he has entered the concussion protocol once again. There’s a lot of speculation going on in Miami right now. Bill Belichick is the master of taking advantage of opportunities like this.

Atlanta Falcons (-188) over Arizona Cardinals: 1 Point

This is a coin flip game. I’m taking the Falcons as more players have been added to the Cardinals injury reserve list these past few weeks. The Cardinals have a weak secondary. And Budda Baker probably missing this game as well is going to be a problem. I don’t trust the Cardinals at all, as this team needs some serious reconstruction. I will pick the Falcons to win this game.
