NFL Confidence Pool Picks Week 7
This past week in the NFL, I was pulling out hairs. There were some major upsets. If you are a bettor that likes to back the underdog, this was your weekend to be alive. The 49ers, Bucs, Packers, Ravens, and Browns all got stunned. These major favorites were handed losses by inferior underdogs. My jaw was dropped the entire day on Sunday. I was in such disbelief of what I was seeing. I just want to move on from what I saw, as many of our tickets and survivor pools were cooked this past weekend.
This week we have some pretty straight forward picks. I don’t think there will be another heartbreaking week like that until Week 17 or 18. We are backing the favorites pretty heavily for this upcoming week. Let’s expect for the NFL to get back to normal. My definition of normal is: the things that are supposed to happen, end up happening.
Here are our Week 7 NFL confidence pool picks. As a reminder, these will be ranked from strongest to weakest. All picks are straight up and don’t involve the point spread, so these picks can be valuable for NFL survivor pools and moneyline betting.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-500) over Carolina Panthers: Worth 14 Points
The Bucs have had some offensive woes these past two weeks. However, I really like them here as they are facing a bad Panthers team. The Panthers looked interesting coming into the season, but now they have completely fallen off. This team is so done with itself that they are open to trading Christian McCaffrey. The Bucs will turn over a new leaf here and come out victorious.
Kansas City Chiefs (-161) over San Francisco 49ers: Worth 13 Points
The Chiefs have too much offensive firepower to be stopped by the 49ers. The 49ers are normally a good defensive team. This year they have kept football games close and within arm’s reach of a good offensive drive. The big issue here is that the 49ers are limited on offense as they lack the ability to make explosive plays downfield. The Chiefs will outscore this team, like the Falcons did last week.
Cincinnati Bengals (-278) over Atlanta Falcons: Worth 12 Points
The Falcons are coming off a great weekend in which they beat the 49ers. Mariota has proven himself capable of handling this young offensive group. This team has made great strides and has jumped on to everyone’s radar after everyone wrote them off. However, the Bengals are the better team and have been coming along since their rocky start. If Burrow could get some more time in the pocket to throw, he is going to shred this Falcons defense apart. The Bengals take this one at home.
Tennessee Titans (-148) over Indianapolis Colts: Worth 11 Points
The Colts face major injury concerns on both sides of the ball. One of their identities is how well they can use their backfield to dominate the game. However, they will not have their top two backfield masters for this matchup. They were able to win one against a collapsing Jaguars team by scoring a difficult touchdown late in the fourth. The Titans have regrouped themselves and have been playing football the right way. Look for the Titans to get on top early and control the game with their short passes and heavy duty run game with Henry.
Dallas Cowboys (-325) over Detroit Lions: Worth 10 Points
The Cowboys are one of the best teams in football. They came off a great weekend where they scared the entire Eagles team by making a second half comeback and bringing the game within a field goal. Other than the Eagles, the Cowboys have been the most efficient team in the NFL. It looks as if Dak Prescott is returning this week from injury. Even if he doesn’t, they are still in great hands with Rush. On the other hand, the Lions have been a sorry excuse for a football team. The Cowboys take this game at home.
Green Bay Packers (-227) over Washington Commanders: Worth 9 Points
I have written the Commanders off as they don't have an identity and are all over the place. This team takes too many gambles when it doesn’t have to. Wentz appears to be dealing with an injury, which will cause him to miss four weeks. Their QB situation is a mess right now as well. Look for Rodgers to use this game as a get back on track after getting embarrassed by both the Giants and the Jets. The Packers will win this game against this clueless Commanders team.
New York Giants (+140) over Jacksonville Jaguars: Worth 8 Points
The Giants have been pretty impressive as of late. They hold wins against the Ravens and Packers in recent weeks. Look for them to continue their dominance this week against the struggling Jaguars. The Giants have a brilliant coaching staff who are using this team the right way. The Jaguars need to figure out how they’re going to regroup after falling off from their hot start to the season. The Giants take this one and will remain undefeated on the road.
New York Jets (+130) over Denver Broncos: With 7 Points
The Jets have been playing some great football thus far. They have a 4-2 start, winning games against teams with some great defense. The Jets have done a great job of playing hardnosed defense, forcing takeaways and putting their offense in the right positions to be productive. The Broncos have played the ugliest football in the NFL this season, as they have gotten into low-scoring affairs that have come down to one or two possessions. Look for the Jets to remain undefeated on the road as they head to Denver to face a Broncos team that has been horrific. The team that makes the most plays on defense will win this game, and that will be the Jets.
Los Angeles Chargers (-280) over Seattle Seahawks: Worth 6 Points
The Chargers have an amazing pass rush and can throw the ball really well. In my opinion, Herbert is the best pure QB in the NFL. He has had a limited receiving corps due to injuries and still has the third most passing yards in the NFL. This team, when healthy, is solid on both sides of the ball. It seems that Allen and Parham will be available for this game, which will create tough matchups for the Seahawks to cover. The Chargers win this game, as they’re excellent at home.
Las Vegas Raiders (-303) over Houston Texans: Worth 5 Points
The Raiders are in a world of trouble with the legal issues concerning Adams right now. Nonetheless, this team is still really talented. They have a ton of weapons that they’re misusing on offense. The Texans are one of the weakest teams in the league, and the Raiders will take advantage in this one. This is the weakest team on their schedule, and they could afford to have an off game and still come out victorious. I don’t see how the Raiders lose this game.
New England Patriots (-360) over Chicago Bears: Worth 4 Points
The Pats have been playing well these past couple weeks with Zappe under center. Also, the defense has been really stingy, as they have given up the least amount of points the past two weeks in the NFL. Let’s look for this team to continue playing its championship-winning brand of football against the Bears. Belichick owes the Bears an ass whooping after trading up to take Fields in the draft, just a few picks before him. The Bears are horrible, and the Pats will continue their dominant play this week in Gillette Stadium.
Miami Dolphins (-305) over Pittsburgh Steelers: Worth 3 Points
The Steelers had a great weekend against the Bucs, coming out with a win against Brady. This team played really good defense and put tons of pressure on Brady and the O-line. Brady isn't a mobile QB, so there was no way that he could elude the pressure. This week, Tagovailoa will return for the Dolphins. He will retake control of this offense and steer them in the right direction. Let’s look for the Dolphins to regain their explosiveness and make big plays on this Steelers defense. The Steelers have too many question marks around them right now. The only way they win is if the Dolphins have a complete meltdown.
New Orleans Saints (-105) over the Arizona Cardinals: Worth 2 points
The Cardinals have looked like a high school varsity football team this season. The only hope they have is Hopkins, who is scheduled to return this week. There is no way in hell that your QB leads the team in passing and rushing yards. Murray rushed for 100 yards last week; he was one of the top rushers amongst running backs. Once again, a high school varsity team. The Saints have a good front seven that can bring the house down on a QB with their pass rush. Look for the Saints to keep Murray on his feet, as the Cardinals O-line can’t hold any pressure.
Baltimore Ravens (-295) over Cleveland Browns: Worth 1 Point
It’s hard to pick a winner for this game as both teams are pretty even. They have also been disappointing as of late, losing to teams they shouldn’t have. This is a get back spot for both teams as they look to make statements this week. This a divisional matchup that will set the tone for the rest of season. The AFC North is one of the most competitive divisions in football, as the Bengals, Ravens, and Browns, are fighting for first place this weekend. This matchup is meaningful for the playoff race, so let's expect both teams to pull out all the tricks to pull away with this one. I take the Ravens in this matchup as they are playing at home, being led by furious Lamar Jackson.
