NFC Division Finish Best Bets and Predictions

We're making our way through the 2025 NFL Preseason, and I'm with you. Can we get to Week 1 already? The month of August is such a dichotomy. Unless you live somewhere like Las Vegas or Arizona, you're probably trying to enjoy the last days of summer. Concurrently, it's like get on with it! Let's play some meaningful football.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though, because there are too many fun and potentially profitable betting options on the table for us.
One of my favorites so far is betting on a particular team’s division finishing position. I’m not gonna lie, guys. I believe we have some gold on our hands. I know it’s a long season, and the parity in the NFL is continually underrated, especially by those who think we have a sure thing.
What is the process when determining a squad's division finishing position? Well, first off, we need to know which divisions to avoid. For example, the NFC West is a hot mess. Maybe the San Francisco 49ers return to form with a healthy Christian McCaffrey and returning, somehow, Trent Williams. We could find some value in teams like this, but we don't have to. I love the division finishing position best bets we have right now.
Another tactic we can use is to avoid the 2nd and 3rd place bets, that is, unless the betting value is there. We have one of those for you today in the NFC South.
Working backwards is the next tip. By the process of elimination, we can narrow down two places in some divisions. From there, if we have significant plus money, we then have a solid wager that could not only last us the entirety of the season from an entertainment perspective but also some potential arbitrage/hedging opportunities to guarantee us some extra cash by Christmas.
I say "we" because it brings us together. Goodness knows, we need all we can get of that in today's world. Don't worry, though, the only work you'll have to do today is to scroll.

Best Bets for Division Finishing Position in the NFC
Philadelphia Eagles NFC East 1st Place: -135
What better team to get us started than a true super team, the reigning, defending Super Bowl Champion, Philadelphia Eagles? I haven’t seen a franchise more dominant in quite some time.
What about the typical Super Bowl hangover? Yes, that is a real phenomenon. However, it’s usually because a roster is dismantled and/or their championship run was fluky or required a good amount of luck.
Neither applies to the 2025 Eagles. Their defense was outstanding last season, and guess what? They were one of the youngest units in the NFL. Enough already with the glazing, though.
Do any of the other NFC East teams have a chance to dethrone them? Washington comes to mind, but are they really going to convert 87% of 4th downs this year as they did in 2024? The league has had ample time to adjust to Kliff Kingsbury and Jayden Daniels.
What about the Cowboys? What about them. They have a decent chance to take the 2nd spot in the NFC East, but I don't trust the coaching staff, and don't get me started on the front office. Uncle Jerry is sure to have his fair share of silly soundbites as the season progresses. Bless his heart.
Atlanta Falcons NFC South 2nd Place: +200
I don’t love this 2nd place play on the NFC South’s Atlanta Falcons, but hear me out. They came close to stealing the NFC South title from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. With one of the top o-lines and running backs in the NFL, the offense now has a quarterback that isn’t a statue in the pocket and who can stretch the field in Michael Penix Jr.
This is a bit worrisome because Penix Jr. could turn out to be a bust, and the more experienced Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers leads his team to the second spot. Perhaps the Falcons would have won the NFC South in 2024 had they had played a quarterback who wasn't so limiting.
At the price of (+200), though, I don’t mind betting on the narrative to play out as it “should”.
New Orleans Saints NFC South 4th Place: -135
Staying in the NFC South division but making our way down the dark stairwell into the basement, we find the New Orleans Saints. I have searched far and wide to find a reason this team will be anything but abysmal in 2025, and outside of the 25-year-old rookie Tyler Shough being NFL-ready, there’s nothing there.
Throw in the overwhelming consensus of my peers that the Saints will be one of, if not the worst team, in the NFL, and the inexpensive price of (-135) is too hard to turn down.
Their struggles in 2024 were not particularly because Spencer Rattler was that bad. He did okay, but the Saints simply don't have the roster.
I’m looking now at 10 different positional rankings for NFL teams, and the Saints are better than 20th just twice. There’s an overall ranking as well, and guess what? They’re dead last.
We need the Panthers not to regress drastically, and this is money in the bank.
