The big NFL game of the week will be a huge NFC West divisional matchup between the one-loss Seattle Seahawks and heated rival San Francisco 49ers. Luckily for bettors, the game is a basic strategy teaser matchup that will give the visiting Seahawks six extra points to play with. The matchup is a likely candidate to decide the NFC’s representative in this season’s Super Bowl, and it could go a long way in helping either the New Orleans Saints or Carolina Panthers steal the top seed in the conference.

Basic strategy teasers, for those bettors that are unfamiliar, are six-point two-team teasers that take advantage of the NFL’s strongest key numbers of seven and three. The bet adds six points to 1.5- to 2.5-point underdogs and subtracts six points from 7.5- to 8.5-point favorites. The wager has been one of the strongest NFL bets this season and is winning at nearly an 80 percent rate. Basic strategy teasers are bets that can be blindly wagered on and should still come out with a profit at the end of the year. However, the best course of action is to choose only the strongest teasers and increase your win rate as much as possible. Let’s take a look at the teaser options for Week 14 of NFL action.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers
Original spread: Seahawks +2.5
Six-point teaser: Seahawks +8.5

If there was a question about Seattle’s status as the best team in the NFL entering last Monday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints, they put it to rest with a dominant 34-7 victory. The team shut down the highly-regarded Saints’ offense and continued to add another win to its already-impressive resume. Seattle dominated the 49ers to the tune of a 29-3 victory the last time the two teams met and has only looked more impressive as the season wears on. Taking the Seahawks plus 8.5 points is the best teaser value of the week, by far.

Oakland Raiders at New York Jets
Original spread: Raiders +2.5
Six-point teaser: Raiders +8.5

New York has only grown more dysfunctional since rookie quarterback Geno Smith took over for Mark Sanchez at the start of the season. The team is on a three-game losing streak and is coming off a 20-point home loss to the Miami Dolphins. The Raiders are not much better off than the Jets, but they have at least been competitive over their last three losses. Oakland has not lost by more than seven points since Week 9 and has a win, two four-point losses and a seven-point loss in that span. Taking the Raiders plus 8.5 points feels like a steal.

Buffalo Bills at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Original spread: Bills +2.5
Six-point teaser: Bills +8.5

Tampa Bay has drastically improved since starting off the season with eight straight losses. The Buccaneers actually won three games in a row, but they are coming off a loss to the red-hot Panthers. Two of Tampa Bay’s three wins were by three-points, so the team is not tearing up the scoreboard. The Bills have lost four of their last five games but were relatively competitive against both the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. The team has one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL and is currently ranked fourth with an average of 139 yards per game. Buffalo should be able to control the pace of this game and, at minimum, stay within the 8.5 points, if not win the game straight out.
