When it comes to betting on the NFL, BetOnline sportsbook has you covered with a full set of odds for the games. However, it does not stop there. Each week of the season it also releases a number prop bet odds in conjunction with a few of the matchups on the slate.
This week I will take a closer look at few player props for this Sunday's slate when it comes to scoring touchdowns.
Jacksonville vs. Tampa Bay: First Player to Score a Touchdown
The Jaguars have punched the ball into the end zone six times in their first four games, while Tampa Bay has scored eight touchdowns on the year. Jacksonville running back TJ Yeldon's odds to score first are set at +700, which are the best on the board for the Jaguars. However, I am going with Buccaneers' running back Doug Martin at +750 betting odds as my top pick in this player prop.
Martin has carried the ball 66 times for 282 yards and one score, which is 60 percent of Tampa Bay's rushing attempts and 67 percent of its total rushing yards gained. The Buccaneers have scored most of their touchdowns through the air with rookie quarterback Jameis Winston at the helm, but his seven interceptions on the year make me think that Tampa Bay will stick to running the ball as much as possible in the Red Zone.
Jacksonville vs. Tampa Bay: Any Jacksonville Player to Score a Touchdown
The two top scorers for Jacksonville through its first four games have be wide receiver's Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns with a pair of touchdowns each. The Jaguars have yet to post a touchdown on the ground with quarterback Blake Bortles throwing for all six scores.
The odds that Robinson scores a touchdown on Sunday are set at +120, and Hurns' odds to score are +145. While either of these players would be a solid play, I am going with the longer +350 odds on Jacksonville wide receiver Bryan Walters. He has six receptions on the year for 72 yards. And given that Jaguars have scored all of their touchdowns through the air, he could be in line to score his first touchdown of the year.
Cleveland vs. Baltimore: Any Player to Score a Touchdown
The Browns have scored nine touchdowns in their first four games, and the top playmaker has been wide receiver Travis Benjamin with 16 receptions for 328 yards and four touchdowns. His betting odds to find the end zone in this Sunday's game are set at +200, which offers some solid value in light of the odds for a total of seven Cleveland players on the list. Running back's Isaiah Crowell (+145) and Duke Johnson (+175) have better odds, but they have only combined for one touchdown in their first four games.
When it comes to scoring touchdowns for Baltimore, both Steve Smith and Crockett Gilmore are at the top of the list with a pair scores through the air. However, neither player is on BetOnline's prop bet odds list for this Sunday's game given their current injury situation. Running back Lorenzo Taliafeero's odds to score a touchdown are set at +175, but he is nicked up as well with a foot injury and listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
Running back Justin Forsett has the best odds to score a touchdown for the Ravens at -185. However, given the team's current injury situation, it opens the door for a play on wide receiver Kamar Aiken at +125 betting odds to find the end zone against the Browns. He is third on the list in receptions behind Smith and Forsett with 11 for 165 yards for a solid average of 15 yards per catch. He has one touchdown on the year through the air, and it came in last Thursday's game against Pittsburgh in which he ended the night with five receptions for 77 yards in what was easily his best effort of the season.
