NFL Confidence Pool Picks Week 15
Going into Week 15, the NFL Playoff Picture is starting to shape up. The Miami Dolphins are holding on for dear life against the Patriots. With a loss, the Dolphins, with a Ravens win against the Jaguars, would be on the outside looking in. There are many important games on the slate. It’s going to be a fun week of football with one game on Thursday, two on Saturday and another game on Monday. Here’s a breakdown of every game and the predicted winner for Week 15.
Every week I give you my favorite to least favorite games according to my confidence in the pick. Remember, all picks will be picked without using the spread. I look forward to giving you the best chance to win your NFL Confidence pool each week and throughout the entirety of the 2020-21 season.
Week 15 Confidence List (Most Confidence to Least Confidence)
Jets vs Rams: The Rams are 17-point favorites in this game, and that doesn’t scare me. The Rams should destroy with their pass rush and rushing defense and will have plenty of chances to score in the passing game against the worst secondary in football. Take the Rams.
Steelers vs Bengals: Many people are now down on the Steelers after they’ve lost two straight games. Not me. They’ll take care of business against a really bad Bengals team that is without two key players on offense for the rest of the year. Take the Steelers.
Panthers vs Packers: This could be a game where we only see Aaron Rodgers for three quarters. You can expect a blowout from the Packers, especially with Christian McCaffrey out yet again with an injury. The Packers defense isn’t spectacular, but they’ll get their stops. Take the Packers.
Lions vs Titans: The Lions defense has been abysmal, and that should continue against a premier offense like the Titans. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the Titans defense as they’ve been inconsistent, but the Lions are still waiting on Kenny Golladay. As long as he’s out, it’s going to be hard to keep up with opposing offenses. Take the Titans.
Texans vs Colts: The Colts are one of the most well-rounded football teams in the league and have a running game that is starting to take off. The Colts run game should be more than enough against a Texans team that has lost all of their offensive weapons this season. Take the Colts.
Jaguars vs Ravens: Gardner Minshew is back under center for the Jaguars. That won’t make a difference. The Ravens defense has been far from good this season, but their offense shouldn’t have any trouble running the football on the Jags. I’m not saying they’ll score 40 or more points. However, I’m also not saying the Ravens won’t score 40 or more points. Take the Ravens.
Chargers vs Raiders: The Raiders offense is clicking but that defense is not. This is a game where Justin Herbert must take over on national television and prove to people that he’s the Rookie of the Year. I like the Chargers to win a shootout. Take the Chargers.
Bills vs Broncos: The Bills are likely overrated, and the Broncos are probably underrated. But that doesn’t mean the Bills won’t cover this line. The offense has been exploding no matter who they go up against. The defense will struggle against the Broncos run game, but that won’t be enough. Take the Bills.
Bears vs Vikings: It has been a long season for the Bears after a solid start to the season. The team is back to where they started with Mitch Trubsiky at quarterback and David Montgomery at running back. This duo has proven that they're capable of scoring points and helping this team win. The Vikings defense has shown nothing, and the offense continues to turn the ball over. Take the Bears.
Seahawks vs Washington: It’s unclear who will start for Washington this week. That’s enough to scare me off Washington. What’s also enough for me to stay away is the Seahawks defense. They’re starting to come around and will force Washington to throw the ball without Alex Smith. This game could be a disaster, or it could be really close. Either way, the Seahawks will come away with it. Take the Seahawks.
Browns vs Giants: The Browns are still not getting enough love for their offense. They’ve got a top tier offensive line, two running backs with star potential, and a quarterback in Baker Mayfield who is just a complete leader and competitor. The Giants won’t be able to provide the same offense. Take the Browns.
Buccaneers vs Falcons: Both of these teams have a lot in common. They’ve got veteran quarterbacks playing a bit bad right now along with defenses that are starting to click. I like the Falcons potential on defense but think there’s too many weapons on the Bucs for Tampa Bay to struggle as much as the Falcons. Take the Buccaneers.
49ers vs Cowboys: Every football fan just wants the 49ers to run the football. They’ve got plenty of talent at the position and have had success doing it. They’re just not consistent enough. This is the game where I think they’ll start to run consistently and break out big gains. Take the 49ers.
Eagles vs Cardinals: Jalen Hurts will get his second start of his career after getting the Eagles a win against the Saints. I can’t say I’m confident on how this game will play out but after watching the Cardinals against the Giants, I’m a believer in their defense. However, that defense has been terrible against the run this season throughout. I think the Eagles can run all over the Cardinals and should also showcase a pass rush that could get Murray to make a mistake or two. Take the Eagles.
Chiefs vs Saints: The Saints are likely holding Drew Brees out until the playoffs. It’s fair but also a bit annoying. Without Brees, there’s no chance I’ll take the Saints after their loss to the Eagles last week. The Chiefs defense isn’t great, but they’ll get their stops for the best offense in football. Take the Chiefs.
Patriots vs Dolphins: This is the game where I’m least confident. I can see the Patriots winning by dominating the running game and turnover battle. But I can also see scenarios where the Dolphins win the turnover battle and ruin a Patriots defense that really hasn’t looked good this season. I’m going to side with the Patriots in this one, but I can also see the other side. Take the Patriots.
