Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 13 NFL Betting Options
It’s always nice to get into the win column in an emphatic fashion. It means that I’m seeing the board well and the work that I am putting in on a daily basis is paying off. Hopefully, it’s not going unnoticed and you, the reader, are making some profits tailing my Basic Strategy Teaser wagers. Let’s try and keep the momentum going in the right direction this week as we have two great teams that fall into the BST parameters, and we are salivating at this opportunity to bet them.
As far as last week’s results go, we easily cashed our ticket as both underdogs – Miami and New York Jets - won their game outright, despite us getting +7.5 and +8.5 points, respectively, on a teaser. Hell, even our alternative option of Denver +8.5 won outright. On to Week 13.

Best Six-Point Teaser for Week 13.
Arizona Cardinals -1.5 + New England +8.5 (-120)
Risk: $120 to win $100
Let’s take a second to explain these spreads to those of you who are new around here. The Arizona Cardinals are 7.5-point favorites against the Chicago Bears. By using a six-point teaser, you will bring that spread down through the key numbers of seven, four and three, and get them as a 1.5-point favorite. As for the Patriots, they are 2.5-point underdogs against the Bills, and teasing them up using our six-point teaser method will take you through the key numbers of three, four and seven, and they would then be a 8.5-point underdog.
As per your selection on the Cardinals teased down to the -1.5-point mark, you have to believe they’ll be ready to go coming out of the bye week against a very terrible Bears team. The Cardinals have been without Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins for the last handful of weeks and have still managed to come out with a winning record in those contests. The Cardinals are in the middle of a battle for first place overall in the NFL, and more importantly the NFC, as they vie for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Cardinals are ranked inside the top-10 in all major offensive categories. And with the return of their two best players, I see no reason to believe they will be slowed down by a terrible Bears defense. The Bears have one of the worst offenses in the entire league, and I do not believe they’ll be able to keep pace with the Cardinals and go toe-to-toe with them. The only advantage the Bears have in this one is that they are playing at home, and Arizona is traveling across the country to play in frigid temps. There is also the angle of teams off a bye not faring too well this season, but I do not expect the Cardinals to fall victim to that trap as they know what’s at stake regarding their playoff future.
In terms of the second leg of this week’s Basic Strategy Teaser, it’s never a bad thing to take the hottest team in football and tease them up to over a touchdown underdog. Look, the Patriots have been HOT. They’ve won six straight games, and the average margin of victory has been 29 points. They’ve given up just 26 points in their last four games. That’s absurd. The Pats know that this game is one of the few remaining that will determine the fate of the AFC East crown. And with Bill Belichick patrolling the sidelines, you know they are going to be prepared for this one. The Bills come into this one with extra rest and prep days as we saw them last Thursday, and they should be amped up and ready to go as well. The defense hasn’t been all that good of late, but they do still rank among the best units because they’ve played a plethora of backup quarterbacks during the first half of the season. I do believe the Bills can pull out the win on their home soil, but this game will not be a blowout either way. The Pats are too good on both sides of the ball to get blown out, so we’ll gladly take as many points as we can with them.
Alternative Options
At the present time, there are no options that fit into the BST model. However, two spreads to monitor closely are the Vikings and Eagles.
Both teams are currently listed at -7 at some spots. And if they reach the -7.5 mark, you can appropriately tease them down to -1.5 and have them fall into the BST parameters. I would rank the Eagles -1.5 higher on the confidence list than the Vikings, as I think the Vikes are prime for a loss here this week.
