2025 Chicago Bears Season Win Total Picks

The Bears are going to be much better this season than they were last year. Undeniably better.
New coach Ben Johnson can’t possibly be worse than all-time clown Matt Eberflus, whose 14-32 tenure featured one jaw-dropping decision and one mind-numbing loss after another.
Caleb Williams is likely to show even more improvement after an unsteady rookie season. The offensive line has been significantly upgraded and the cupboard of offensive weapons has been stocked.
Defensively, the line has finally been (somewhat) addressed. And Chicago was praised for a draft that saw them add four potential difference makers in the first 62 picks.
Everything is looking up for this team, right?
No. Because even though Chicago will definitely be better than the 5-12 mess that they put on the field last year the reality is that they will have to face one of the most difficult schedules in the league. Improvement throughout the organization likely won’t show up in Chicago’s win-loss record. And this group is likely headed for a fifth straight losing season.

CHICAGO BEARS 2025 OFFENSE
The Bears were -4.9 wins compared to their Pythagorean expectations under Eberflus, who was mercifully fired last season after his comically inept effort in a Thanksgiving loss to Detroit. Enter Johnson, who was one of the most sought-after head coaching candidates in the hiring cycle each of the past two years. The expectation is that Johnson’s impact as an offensive savant will be felt immediately.
That means molding and shaping Williams, who I think was unfairly criticized for his play last season. Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron was a goof. The offensive line stunk. Despite that, Williams completed nearly 63 percent of his passes for 3,500 yards with 20 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
And that was on a team that finished No. 32 in total offense, No. 31 in passing, No. 31 on third downs and No. 28 in scoring.
There’s nowhere to go but up. And if the offensive line, bolstered by the savvy additions of Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman and Jonah Jackson, can stay healthy and coalesce quickly then Chicago should vault into the top half of the league in offense.
Johnson’s offenses in Detroit were known for their bone-crunching running attacks. It will be interesting to see if Chicago has enough talent and depth in their running back room to produce on the ground and help take the pressure off Williams.
CHICAGO BEARS 2025 DEFENSE
Johnson made an excellent hire when he grabbed deposed New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen to be Chicago’s defensive coordinator. Allen favors a 4-3 defense that is nearly identical – down to favoring a nickel base – to Eberflus’ defense. Chicago already has the personnel to fit Allen’s scheme. That should help propel a unit that hasn’t been Top 10 since 2019.
The Bears were No. 27 in total defense and No. 28 in rushing defense last season. In a mirror of the offense, Chicago was soft and weak at the point of attack and that undermined everything they were trying to do on this side of the ball.
Chicago will have to cross its fingers and hope that Grady Jarrett can stay healthy at age 32. If so, he is a difference maker at tackle. The Bears will also have to pray that they were right to give completely unproven and undeserving defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo (16.5 career sacks) a big free agent deal while letting underrated linebacker Jack Sanborn sign in Dallas for peanuts.
The Bears have one of the best secondaries in football. However, Kevin Byard is 31 years old and Jaquan Brisker is one concussion away from his career potentially ending. That leaves Chicago dangerously thin at safety.

CHICAGO BEARS 2025 SEASON PICKS AND PREDICTIONS
The Chicago Bears are one of the worst, most underachieving franchises in North American sports.
Last year they entered the season as a Trendy Team, bolstered by the drafting of Williams and a spin on HBO’s “Hard Knocks”. The result was another humiliating campaign in a franchise that has grown immune to humiliation.
The Bears have gone 0-4 against their Las Vegas season win total over the last four years and they are 2-10 against their preseason win total over the last 12 seasons.
They suck.
Again, the Bears have a better roster heading into this season. And it is doubtful that Johnson will be as bad in close games (3-7) as Eberflus was last season. But the schedule is simply too much for them to overcome.
The NFC North is the best division in football. They have to crossover with the punishing AFC North and a talented NFC East. Chicago doesn’t have the depth or the cohesion to overpower their rivals and its coaching staff is the most unproven of any in the three divisions I just mentioned.
This is an easy ‘under’ for me as Chicago has a lot to prove after decades of failure.
