2025 New York Giants Season Win Total Picks

There’s only one question to ask regarding the New York Giants at this point.
Are the Giants now a worse organization than the New York Jets?
I’m going to say no…but it is damn close.
Since the start of the 2017 season, the Giants have the worst record in the NFL at 40-90-1. They are coming off a three-win season that saw them go just 4-13 against the spread. The Giants have gone ‘under’ their Vegas season win total seven of the past eight years.
Those numbers sure do look like the Jets!
But the reason the Giants are a sinking ship, with absolutely no hope heading into this season or for the foreseeable future, is the “brain trust” driving this clown car.
First, we have team president John Mara. This is the genius who ran off Tom Coughlin and then gave head coaching contracts to Ben McAdoo, Pat Shurmur, Joe Judge, and Brian Daboll (as well as general managers Dave Gettleman and Joe Schoen).
Next, we have Daboll. He gets a lot of credit for his work with Josh Allen. But Allen sure doesn’t look like he’s missed Daboll and the Buffalo offense has gotten better since Daboll has been gone. Since his fluke 6-1 start in 2022, Daboll is 12-31-1 as a head coach. In 2023 this team went 6-11…and they actually overachieved by 1.5 wins.
Defensive coordinator Shane Bowen’s stop units got worse every year he was in Tennessee and he led another bottom 10 group in New York last year. (Oh, and the Titans defense that Bowen left – it finished No. 2 in the NFL.) Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka looks like he is in way over his head.
Finally, we have Schoen, the crown jewel.
Schoen is the one that signed Daniel Jones to that ludicrous $160 million contract. Schoen is the one that let Saquon Barkley walk to Philadelphia and then turned around and gave the same deal that he wouldn’t give Barkley (3 years, $36 million) to No. 2 receiver Darius Slayton. Schoen also let Xavier McKinney go last year, only to watch McKinney become first team All-Pro in Green Bay. Then Schoen signed McKinney’s replacement (Javon Holland) this offseason for $1.8 million MORE than McKinney got last summer.
Only two of the 18 free agents that Joe Schoen signed in his first two seasons are still with the team.
And the cherry on top: Schoen has repeatedly passed on drafting a quarterback. Then, instead of embracing the horror of the 2025 schedule, planning on a Top 5-10 pick next year, and waiting to grab a QB in 2026’s loaded class, Schoen decided to trade up in the 2025 draft and reach for Jaxon Dart!
Again, all this sure does sound like the Jets.

NEW YORK GIANTS 2025 OFFENSE
The Giants were No. 30 in total offense, No. 28 in passing offense, No. 23 in rushing offense and they scored the second-fewest points in the league last year.
Naturally, New York decided to run it back with pretty much entirely the same group on offense this year.
The Giants welcome back 91% of their offensive production from last season’s limp unit. They have the same offensive coordinator. And the “offensive mind” behind it all is still Daboll, a guy who built a Giants offense that has finished dead last in 20+-yard pass plays in two of the past three years.
But wait, there’s more.
Russell Wilson is now on his fourth team in the last five years. Wilson flamed out in Denver, couldn’t beat out Justin Fields in training camp last year, and is 23-32 in his last 55 NFL starts. The soon-to-be-37-year-old Wilson is surely to be the savior that this team is so desperate for.
Malik Nabers looks ready to follow the footsteps of previous LSU wideouts in New York. The offensive line has a chance to be mediocre if everything breaks right. Cam Skattebo could be a sneaky-great draft pick in the backfield.
NEW YORK GIANTS 2025 DEFENSE
The word on the street is that the Giants have the makings of a dominating defense.
But here is the reality: this franchise hasn’t had a Top 10 total defense in eight years and has just one Top 10 total defense in the last 11 years. New York has had just two Top 10 scoring defenses in the last 15 years.
Over the last four seasons the Giants have fielded total defenses ranked No. 24, No. 27, No. 25 and No. 21.
The visage of the New York Giants as some rough-and-tumble, defense-first organization is as antiquated as a beeper. New York did finish in the Top 10 last year in passing defense. But that’s only because it was so easy to run against them (No. 27 in rushing defense; No. 26 in yards per carry).
Much like the offense, the Giants thought it would be a great idea to bring back pretty much everyone in the front seven from last year’s wet-paper-bag-soft rush defense.
Sure, they have some exciting pass rushers – Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Abdul Carter. And Dexter Lawrence is a beast. But the Giants haven’t had a solid middle linebacker since Antonio Pierce and with two new secondary starters you have to worry about chemistry in the back end.

NEW YORK GIANTS 2025 SEASON PICKS AND PREDICTIONS
This team is a joke.
The owner is clueless. The coaching staff is full of punchlines. The roster has more holes than Andrew Cuomo’s credibility.
But the reason that the Giants are an easy ‘under’ play this year is the league’s toughest schedule. By far.
The NFC East is rugged and New York is clearly the fourth-best team in the division. The Giants have to crossover with the AFC West – the best division in AFC – and the NFC North – the best division in football. The Giants went 0-8 against playoff teams in 2024. In 2025 have 10 games against teams that made the postseason last year.
Even worse, the few competitive/winnable games that New York has against other bottom feeders – New Orleans, Chicago, New England, Las Vegas – all come on the road!
It is possible that the G-Men will be underdogs in all 17 games this year.
Further, there is no way in hell that Daboll survives the entire season. When this team hits the Week 14 bye either 2-11 or 3-10 on either an eight-game losing streak or a 1-7 two-month slump, Daboll is likely to get a pink slip for Hanukkah. Does anyone think that’s going to lead to a late season rally?
Me neither.
New York has gone ‘under’ its Vegas season win total seven times in the past eight years. There is nothing about this coming season that would make me think a turnaround is coming. This is an easy ‘under’.
