NFL Office Pool Picks Week 2 - ATS Predictions for Every Game!
The first week of NFL football is now behind us, and the early office pool standings have begun to take shape. In the opening week of action, favorites went 13-3 straight up and 9-5-2 against the spread. The favorites took care of business in the first week of action. And with a second straight week of no double digit favorites on tap, there will be plenty of close games in Week 2. Staying at the top of your office pool standings is no easy task, as it takes months of dedication to churn out consistent results against the spread. We went 7-7-2 last week and will be looking to climb up the standings with these week 2 office pool picks.
NFL Week 2 Office Pool Picks Against the Spread
Doc’s Sports offers NFL expert picks for every game on our NFL predictions page.
Miami Dolphins (-2) Over Buffalo Bills
The Dolphins have started the last two seasons with three straight wins and will be looking to keep that trend alive with a big win over Buffalo. Josh Allen put his team on his back last week, but his heroics won’t be enough against a high-flying Dolphins offense. Dolphins 31, Bills 27
Jacksonville Jaguars (-3.5) Over Cleveland Browns
Cleveland is a dumpster fire, and there really isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel for them, either. Their elite defense has taken a step back, and the lack of protection for a constantly injury-plagued Watson disrupts their offense. Jacksonville lost their season opener on the road. However, when they return home, they will get a win and cover in front of the home crowd. Jaguars 25, Browns 17
Indianapolis Colts (-3.5) Over Green Bay Packers
The lack of a quarterback for the Packers has abruptly halted what were previously high expectations for the team. Malik Willis will do his best to match what Jordan Love brings to the team. However, with a dynamic and hungry Anthony Richardson at signal caller for the Colts, it’s hard to see this one staying close. The 3.5-point line is less than ideal, but the Colts still win this one by 4+ more often than not. Colts 24, Packers 17
Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5) Over Carolina Panthers
The Panthers were embarrassed by the Saints in week 1, losing 47-10. Bryce Young has been unable to live up to expectations, and the Panthers defense has done him no favors. Meanwhile, Justin Herbert had a promising week 1 start and will move the ball down the field against Carolina. As long as the line is in single digits, fading the Panthers is never a bad thing to do. Chargers 28, Panthers 13
Las Vegas Raiders (+9.5) Over Baltimore Ravens
It would be surprising to see the Ravens lose this one outright, but they lack the consistent offense to run up the score against a solid Raiders defense. This one has all the makings of a low scoring slog, and close to a double digit spread will be difficult for the Ravens to cover. Ravens 17, Raiders 13
Dallas Cowboys (-6.5) Over New Orleans Saints
The Cowboys are machines in the regular season, and this is a great time to ‘sell high’ on the Saints after their big week 1 win. Dallas is the better team on both sides of the ball, and their offense will not be slowed down at home. Dallas will put up 30 or more points. And while the Saints will have moments of their own, it won’t be enough to get the win or cover. Cowboys 31, Saints 21
Washington Commanders (-2) Over New York Giants
This is as close to a ‘must win’ game it can be in week 2, as both of these teams desperately need a win if they hope to be in playoff contention at the season’s end. Washington’s locker room has a buoyancy not felt in a long time with Jayden Daniels under center, and that will be enough to get the victory. The Commanders defense is woeful. However, nevertheless, Daniel Jones will struggle to generate offense. This one won’t be pretty, but the Commanders send the home crowd happy. Commanders 27, Giants 17
Tennessee Titans (+4) Over New York Jets
Tennessee blew a 17-point lead in the first week of the season despite not conceding an offensive touchdown. If their defense shows up again against a hobbled Aaron Rodgers, they will be able to get the cover at home. The Jets defense looked fragile against Jordan Mason and the 49ers. And without a truly elite defense, their subpar offense will fall short. This one will come down to a late field goal for either team, and either way the Titans will cover the spread. Jets 20, Titans 19
Seattle Seahawks (-3) Over New England Patriots
The Patriots may have shocked the world with their win over the Bengals, but that doesn’t suddenly mean they are a good football team. The Seahawks ground game is second to none, and they are a team with real playoff ambitions this season. Seattle cannot afford to tempt fate and drop a winnable game against the Patriots, and they will take care of business in the first half before running out the clock to seal the deal. Seahawks 27, Patriots 14
San Francisco 49ers (-6) Over Minnesota Vikings
The 49ers are looking like their dominant selves once again, steamrolling the Jets despite missing Christian McCaffrey. The depth they have on offense allows them to run effective plays regardless of who is on the field, and they will have no problems putting up a big score against the Vikings. It’s hard to take too much away from the Vikings win over the lowly New York Giants, and there is no way we can step in front of the 49ers based on what we’ve seen. 49ers 28, Vikings 10
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+7) Over Detroit Lions
The fact the Buccaneers are getting a full touchdown on the road makes this one of the most confident picks of the week. Detroit needed last second heroics to beat the Rams and will not be able to pull away against a fluid Tampa Bay offense on Sunday. Baker Mayfield has looked impressive in a Tampa Bay uniform, and there is no reason to start doubting them now. Not only do the Buccaneers get the cover, but I’m calling for an outright victory in Detroit. Buccaneers 24, Lions 21
Los Angeles Rams (+1.5) Over Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals blew a lead against the Bills in week 1, and they won’t even get that chance against the Rams. Los Angeles continues to work wonders with their combination of aging veterans and rising youngsters, and they will beat the Cardinals on the road. Matthew Stafford is still a top tier NFL quarterback, and there isn’t anything too scary about Arizona at this stage of the season. Rams 20, Cardinals 16
Kansas City Chiefs (-6) Over Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow will need a few weeks to get back into game shape, and the Bengals will have to hope their season isn’t gone before he figures it out. A visit to Arrowhead stadium in Kansas City is always a tall task, and this spread is short enough to ride with the defending champions. Burrow is clearly not at 100%, and the Bengals have a nasty habit of starting off seasons slow. Kansas City is full steam ahead, as they move to 2-0 with another big win. Chiefs 33, Bengals 20
Denver Broncos (+3) Over Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers upset Atlanta to kick things off, but that was more due to poor play from Kirk Cousins than anything special from the Steelers. Denver has plenty of holes on offense, but their defense is good enough to keep this one close. This will be a game filled with punts. However, between the free field goal on the spread, and home field advantage, the Broncos will get the cover against Pittsburgh. Steelers 17, Broncos 16
Chicago Bears (+6.5) Over Houston Texans
Sunday Night Football features a pair of young quarterbacks that could be the future of the league. CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams will inject some life into this matchup, as both of these teams have legitimate divisional hopes despite their poor showings in recent years. There is no doubt Houston is the better team, but they will be unable to generate enough points to get the cover against a stingy Bears defense. Williams throws for his first NFL touchdown in front of the nation, but it won’t be enough for the upset victory. Texans 24, Bears 21
Atlanta Falcons (+6.5) Over Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles have plenty of questions that still need to be answered. They may have beat Green Bay on a choppy Brazilian field last week, but the Falcons bring a completely different set of problems for this Philadelphia defense. Atlanta will be playing with desperation to avoid the dreaded 0-2 hole, getting big defensive plays when they need it most. The Eagles get the victory but fail to cover the number on Monday night. Eagles 24, Falcons 19
2024 Season record: 7-7-2
