NFL Office Pool Picks Week 5 - ATS Predictions for Every Game!
One of the most difficult tasks in the NFL is finishing at the top of your office pool standings. Your office pool standings aren’t based on one lucky break or one bad beat, but rather an entire season of consistency. Doc Sports will be providing against the spread picks for all 272 regular season NFL games in order to help you stay at the top of your standings.
In Week 4, we went 10-6 against the spread for a nice return. The trend of underdogs winning outright continued, as favorites went just 9-7 straight up and 7-9 against the spread on the closing lines. Here are your Week 5 office pool pick against the spread.
Doc’s Sports offers NFL expert picks for every game on our NFL predictions page.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1.5) Over Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons needed last minute scores to secure their only two wins of the season, and that won’t be enough against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay’s offense will build an insurmountable lead, and the Falcons won’t have enough left in the tank to mount a furious comeback. Buccaneers 28, Falcons 18
New York Jets (+2.5) Over Minnesota Vikings
The Jets will come into this one angry after losing to the Broncos last week. Aaron Rodgers will bounce back nicely, and the hungry Jets defense will disrupt the groove Sam Darnold has created for the Vikings. Jets 20, Vikings 17
Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) Over Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals got their first win of the season against the lowly Carolina Panthers, but that isn’t enough to look their way against the formidable Ravens. A road favorite in a divisional game is always a tough pill to swallow, but the Ravens superior defense will allow them to run up the score on the road. Ravens 27, Bengals 13
Buffalo Bills (+1) Over Houston Texans
The Bills got smacked by the Ravens on Sunday Night Football, but Josh Allen will be coming back with a vengeance against the Texans. This matchup could go a long way in determining the AFC playoff picture, and the Bills experience will get them over the line. The Texans look vulnerable on defense, and MVP frontrunner Allen won’t need a second invitation to pad his stats. Bills 28, Texans 25
Carolina Panthers (+4) Over Chicago Bears
The Bears beat the Rams 24-18 last week, but it wasn’t due to a coherent offensive effort from Caleb Williams. Chicago punted the ball 5 times compared to the Rams once, and I just don’t have faith in Williams to pick apart the Panthers. The Bears defense will probably find a way to win, but covering this spread will be another story. Bears 17, Panthers 14
Washington Commanders (-3) Over Cleveland Browns
This spread is puzzling. The Commanders have looked like a coherent football team with Jayden Daniels shooting out of a cannon to begin his career. Across the field, the Browns are in total disarray, losing two straight games to the Giants and Raiders, with their only win of the season coming against the 0-4 Jaguars. Washington is at home, has all the momentum, and will easily cover this short spread. Commanders 28, Browns 17
Indianapolis Colts (+2.5) Over Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars will eventually turn their season around, but there is no way we will be taking them in the favorite role this week. The Colts lost Anthony Richardson to injury, but he could be back for this matchup. Whether it is Richardson or Joe Flacco under center for the Colts, they will both be able to outduel Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars in a pivotal divisional clash. Colts 20, Jaguars 17
New England Patriots (+1) Over Miami Dolphins
The Patriots are at home in this one, and that’s enough to lean in their direction. Both of these teams have nothing going on offensively, but the Patriots have a slightly stronger defense. A relatively meaningless AFC East showdown, but still a valuable one for the office pool standings. Patriots 14, Dolphins 13
Arizona Cardinals (+7.5) Over San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers were good enough to beat the Patriots last week, but a big win against a divisional opponent is too much to ask for. The Cardinals got lit up by the Commanders last week, but they will shore things up defensively here. This will be a nailbiter, but the 49er injuries will prevent them from pulling away. 49ers 23, Cardinals 17
Denver Broncos (-3) Over Las Vegas Raiders
This is a tough one to call, as both rosters have serious issues. The slight edge goes to the Broncos, as the Raiders off-field issues revolving around DeVante Adams will distract them from their task at hand. The Broncos have newfound belief after taking down the Jets last week and will be able to pull out a win here. The cover will be tight, but they just get the job done. Broncos 21, Raiders 17
Los Angeles Rams (+3.5) Over Green Bay Packers
The return of Jordan Love wasn’t enough to get the Packers back in the win column last week. Love made an impact offensively, but he will still struggle to outduel Matthew Stafford and the Rams. Los Angeles may be a weak team with their injuries, but these are games they have to find a way to win if they hope to compete for a playoff spot at the season’s end. They are at home with a favorable spread, which is enough to take a shot on the dog. Rams 24, Packers 23
Seattle Seahawks (-6.5) Over New York Giants
The Seahawks defense is woeful, but at least they have a competent offense going the other way. The same cannot be said about the Giants, whose season high is 21 points scored. The Seahawks will keep finding ways to score while getting the occasional stop against New York. It’s a thick spread to swallow, but the Seahawks will pull away late to win by double digits. Seahawks 28, Giants 16
Dallas Cowboys (+2.5) Over Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers 3-1 start is nothing to scoff at, but they still lack the offense to keep pace with the Cowboys. Dallas deserves to be a road favorite in this one thanks to their balance on both sides of the ball. Pittsburgh has a strong defense. However, after getting picked apart by Joe Flacco last week, there will be plenty of tape on how to dismantle the Steelers for Dallas. Cowboys 28, Steelers 11
Kansas City Chiefs (-5) Over New Orleans Saints
The Chiefs are one of two undefeated teams remaining in the NFL, and they will keep that streak alive against the Saints. The Chiefs are not as dominant as they once were, but they still have as strong defense and Patrick Mahomes going the other way. New Orleans has crashed down to Earth after their strong start and will fall just short at Arrowhead on Monday night. Chiefs 25, Saints 17
2024 Season record: 31-30-3
