2025 Tennessee Titans Season Win Total Picks

“The man who knows his history can see present events better than anyone else.”
- Luc Jorgart
Each of the last two seasons have seen a rookie quarterback take the league by storm, lead their teams to surprising playoff appearances, and stamp their claim as the NFL’s Next Big Thing.
First it was C.J. Stroud and Houston in 2023. Then it was Jayden Daniels in 2024.
Now could it be Cam Ward and Tennessee in 2025?
I’m not suggesting that Tennessee and Ward are going to explode onto the scene in 2025 simply because that exact same scenario has played out each of the last two years. Anyone in gambling can tell you: just because things have happened doesn’t mean they are going to continue to happen. And I’ve seen a ton of bad rookie quarterbacks play a lot of awful football for terrible teams.
Yet, there are some interesting similarities between the setup of Ward and the foundation of his two rookie predecessors.
If the Titans could pull off a turnaround it would be a hell of a magic trick from what has been the worst team in the worst division in the NFL each of the past two seasons.

TENNESSEE TITANS 2025 OFFENSE
Head coach Brian Callahan saw enough last year to know that this Titans offense needed to be torn down to the studs and completely rebuilt.
Enter mediocre and uninspiring free agents Van Jefferson, Tyler Lockett, Dan Moore, and Kevin Zeitler, new quarterback Ward, and a slew of other draft picks and scrap heap guys to fill out the two-deep.
I’m not as high on Ward as a lot of people. And, frankly, anyone that’s read anything I’ve ever written in the past about the subject knows I think that starting rookie quarterbacks is the height of stupidity. Ward is one of the bigger X-factors in the AFC South.
Tennessee’s biggest problem last year was that Will Levis couldn’t stop turning the ball over. The Titans were No. 31 in the league in turnovers (34) and their -16 turnover differential was an anchor around their necks.
It also didn’t help that the Titans weren’t good at anything other than turning the ball over, finishing No. 26 in total offense, No. 26 in passing and No. 27 in scoring. Will their re-tread free agent pickups really inject any life into this attack?
Several advanced metrics suggest that this offense is primed for a rebound. Now it is up to Callahan and his hand-picked pieces to make it work. If not, there’s going to = be even more questions about whether Callahan really knows his side of the ball or if he was just riding Joe Burrow’s coattails.
TENNESSEE TITANS 2025 DEFENSE
It is almost unbelievable to say, but the Titans were the No. 2 defense in football last year.
No, for real. They were.
I know what you’re thinking: “Didn’t these guys give up over 50 points to Detroit?”
Yes. They did.
“And didn’t they get torched for 42 points by Washington? And for 37+ in back-to-back weeks to the Colts and Bengals? And didn’t they allow 30+ points EIGHT times last year?”
Yeah. All that also happened.
But the numbers are real. Tennessee was No. 2 in yards allowed and No. 2 against the pass. However, thanks to an almost unfathomable 11.5 defensive yards per point – a direct result of the offense’s aforementioned turnover problem – the Titans were No. 30 in points allowed.
Much like they did on offense, Tennessee was aggressive in adding pieces to the stop unit via free agency. Dre’Mont Jones, Cody Barton and Xavier Woods are all expected to be new starters. And the Titans used their second- and third-round picks on defenders.
Jeffery Simmons is a hero and T’Vondre Sweat looks like a keeper. There is a major problem with depth on this side of the ball, though. And there aren’t many/any guys currently penciled in as backups that would be starting for other teams in the league. That’s a problem.
An under-the-radar offseason addition that could help on this side of the ball was signing punter Johnny Hekker. Hekker was a four-time first-team All-Pro with the Rams and could help boost a special teams unit that was middling last year.

TENNESSEE TITANS 2025 SEASON PICKS AND PREDICTIONS
The Titans had beaten their Vegas season win total in seven of eight years before last season’s implosion. Tennessee didn’t just go ‘under’ last year, they went four games below their total.
Tennessee also qualifies as a “triple pickle” team for me, meaning that they posted a Pythagorean win number at -1.5 or worse, had a turnover differential of -10 or worse, and missed against Vegas by four or more games.
Add in an easier schedule and a soft division and there is some potential here.
I’ll play the Titans ‘over’ 5.5 wins. It’s a no play for me at 6.5. I absolutely am not expecting this team to match the magic of Houston and Washington the last two seasons; this Titans team isn’t going anywhere near the playoffs.
But if the defense can stay in the top half of the league again this year and if Ward and the veterans take care of the ball then I can see the Titans becoming a feisty underdog capable of scraping together six or seven wins.
Robert Ferringo has posted seven of 10 winning football seasons, including last year thanks to an astounding +10,830 three-month run. Robert banked nearly +40,000 in profit between 2010-2019 for a 10-year average profit of nearly +4,000. He has earned 11 of 16 overall winning years and 69 of 114 winning months while also going 23-9 with his football futures rated 5.0+ and earning 16 of 19 winning Super Bowls.
