Monday Night Football Picks: Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks Best Bets

This week’s edition of Monday Night Football features two NFC powerhouses as the Chicago Bears head out west to take on the defending Super Bowl Champs Seattle Seahawks. Both teams are coming into this one with momentum, as they both won last week. Chicago is currently riding a two-game winning streak, and they have won four of their last five. Seattle looks to have finally straightened everything out after picking up a 20-3 win, in dominant fashion, over the Kansas City Chiefs. The storylines to follow here are whether or not the Chicago secondary has an answer for Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and whoever wins the turnover battle. This should be an exciting matchup as both teams look to keep pace in their respected division standings.

Monday Night Football Chicago Bears Game Preview
The Chicago Bears are coming into this week’s game having picked up back-to-back wins against the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots. They have won four of their last five and have a 2-1 road record. Last week’s game against the Patriots was a close battle, with both teams matching each other, until the Bears snuck away with a win. The stat sheet was pretty even though the Bears controlled the time of possession and forced Drake Maye to throw an interception. Chicago averaged nearly four YPC and finished with 116 rushing yards. Caleb Williams completed 22 of his 33 passes or 308 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Bears’ offense ranks third in the NFL in YPG (390.7), and they are averaging 25.7 PPG. Defensively the Bears rank eighth in allowed YPG (313.4) and they are allowing 20.4 PPG.
One of the biggest needs in this game is to keep Williams consistent and efficient. This Seahawks secondary has a knack of creating interceptions and suffocating the opposition. Williams has been solid in his return to the field, but this is the toughest secondary in the NFL. With that being said, the ground game needs to be able to open things up for Williams and the offense. If the Seahawks shut down the run, the Bears will be in major trouble. Defensively, the Bears need to follow the same script as everyone else, forcing Darnold to beat himself. Darnold played a clean game against Kansas City, but he still has eight interceptions on the season. Chicago needs to force him into more.
Chicago Bears 3 Keys to Victory
- Get Consistency and Efficiency Out of Williams
- Get the Ground Game Going
- Force Darnold to Beat Himself

Monday Night Football Seattle Seahawks Game Preview
Seattle comes into this one coming off one of their biggest wins of the season. They completely shut down their old friend, Kenneth Walker, in his return to Seattle, and totally pummeled the Kansas City Chiefs. The Seahawks defense held the Chiefs to just 213 yards, and their secondary looked elite against Patrick Mahomes. Seattle held Mahomes to just 165 passing yards and forced an interception. Seattle’s offense outgained Kansas City by nearly 200 yards. Darnold did throw an interception, but he also saw some great productivity out of the run game which opened things up for him. Seattle had nearly 36 minutes of possession in this game. On the season, Seattle’s offense ranks in the top half of the league with 343.3 YPG and they are scoring 24 PPG. Defensively, their secondary ranks atop the league allowing just 144.4 passing YPG. The defense also leads the league in YPG allowed (233.9), and they are only allowing 17.9 PPG.
The Seahawks need to continue to rely on their secondary, and slow Williams. Williams has been nearly elite since returning from his injury, but Seattle is in a great position to slow him down. They also need to keep an eye on D’Andre Swift and limit his impact in this game. Their success in stopping Swift may depend on the status of Leonard Williams who is dealing with an Achilles injury. Smith-Njigba needs to continue to play like the best receiver in the league, and Darnold needs to limit the turnovers.
Seattle Seahawks 3 Keys to Victory
- Shut Down Williams
- Limit Swift’s Ability to Open Things Up for Williams
- No Turnovers

Monday Night Football Game Predictions
In regard to the game total, I am going to take the under. The Seahawks limit explosive plays and will force teams to beat them on the ground. As for the outcome of the game, I think Seattle will start to gain some serious momentum at this point of the season and win this one again. They just dominated one of the best teams in the AFC and will get the chance to replicate that against one of the best teams in the NFC. Their secondary is relentless, and I think William’s momentum comes to a screeching halt here. Take the Seahawks to win and cover on Monday Night.
My Pick: Seattle Seahawks, -3 / Under 46.5
