NFL Office Pool Picks Week 8 - ATS Predictions for Every Game!

Each week, Doc’s Sports will be providing free against the spread picks for every NFL matchup. The season will not be won or lost on a bad beat or lucky break, but rather on consistent, positive results through all 272 regular season games. Last week, we went 6-8 overall. The Lions and Vikings both failed to cover by half a point, but that is just the name of the game in spread betting. There are four teams on bye this week, which gives us 14 matchups to comb over, so let’s dive right in.
Doc’s Sports offers NFL expert picks for every game on our NFL predictions page.
Carolina Panthers (+3.5) Over Green Bay Packers
The Panthers looked like utter garbage last week against the Buccaneers, but I expect them to bounce back nicely on a short week. Their offensive game plan of a run-heavy offense was thrown out the window thanks to the Bucs early lead, and now the public seems to have forgotten how good this team looked earlier this season. Green Bay’s run game is better with Josh Jacobs back on the team, but they are still far from a Super Bowl contender at this stage of the season. This one will be very close, which makes the spread at a crucial number attractive for the underdog. Packers 24, Panthers 21
Dallas Cowboys (-6.5) Over Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are 2-5 on the season with four of those losses coming by double digits. They now take on a red-hot Dallas offense, and this one could get out of hand in a hurry. Arizona seems to win close ones or lose in embarrassing fashion, and while the Cowboys have their own history of embarrassing losses, this will not be one of them. The Dallas offense will put up 30+ points without too many issues, and I don’t trust Jacoby Brissett to do the same. Cowboys 35, Cardinals 17
Atlanta Falcons (+2.5) Over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have started to turn their season around with two wins in the last three, but that doesn’t mean they should be favored over the Falcons in this one. Atlanta just took down the previously undefeated 49ers, and their offense has scored 23+ points in five straight games. Michael Penix Jr. can go toe-to-toe with Baker Mayfield in the clutch, and the Falcons defensive advantages in the secondary will be the difference. Falcons 27, Buccaneers 21
Buffalo Bills (-3.5) Over Baltimore Ravens
A rested Bills side is not one I want to step in front of, especially if Lamar Jackson is still unable to suit up. Baltimore collapsed on both sides of the ball in their defeat against the Bengals last week, and this Bills offense may completely steamroll them in Week 8. They lead the league in points per game as Allen always has something up his sleeve, which will allow them to get the late score they need to not only win, but to cover this spread. Bills 27, Ravens 18
Cleveland Browns (+3.5) Over Pittsburgh Steelers
The 5-2 Browns take on the 5-2 Steelers with top spot in the AFC North on the line. Who would’ve thought? Cleveland has needed late heroics to steal wins this year, but that shouldn’t take away from the fact they are always in the game down the stretch in the first place. Pittsburgh isn’t the type of team to deliver the knockout punch, as they would rather sit on leads and grind out wins. Maybe Deshaun Watson can put together another fourth-quarter drive for the win, maybe not. Either way, we are taking the points. Browns 20, Steelers 17
Jacksonville Jaguars (-7.5) Over Indianapolis Colts
The Jacksonville Jaguars are still not being talked about in the same tier as the elite Super Bowl contenders, and it is starting to get disrespectful. Jacksonville has looked excellent this year with Trevor Lawrence playing some of the best football of his career, and their defense has been just as stout. Their 13 wins last year were not enough to earn the respect of the league, but it will be harder to silence the believers when they explode for 40+ against a helpless Colts side. Jaguars 41, Colts 19
New York Jets (PK) Over Las Vegas Raiders
A loss to the previously winless Miami Dolphins is a bad look for the Jets, but it is not as if the Raiders are looking any better. New York actually played well for most of that game and late mistakes cost them, while it is harder to take away positives from the Raiders four game losing streak. Las Vegas are dreadful on defense, and are now considering a quarterback change at this stage of the season. A loss to the Jets may be the final straw for Kirk Cousins. Jets 26, Raiders 10
Detroit Lions (-3.5) Over Minnesota Vikings
What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? This is a massive NFC North matchup, and even Minnesota’s mighty defense will not be able to stop the Lions offense. Detroit has always been able to rise to the occasion when they need to do so most, and this is nothing short of a must-win game in Week 8. The Vikings offense looks incapable of creating explosive plays, which is the recipe for success against this Detroit defense. It’ll be close for a while, but the Lions defense has improved in other areas, and will slam the door to stop the Vikings in the fourth. Lions 27, Vikings 23
Cincinnati Bengals (-10.5) Over Tennessee Titans
The Bengals will not come out flat like they did last week, and an early lead will be too much for the Titans to overcome. Cam Ward looks like a bust as a former first overall pick, and it is not as if the Titans have been playing well on defense either. There are really no positives in Tennessee right now, and an explosive Bengals offense showed they can put up points in a hurry last week against a capable Ravens defense. Bengals 30, Titans 10
Los Angeles Rams (-6.5) Over Los Angeles Chargers
This spread is far too short, and is one of my most confident picks of the week. The Rams were in full control against the Raiders last week on the road, and it is hard to rate the Chargers much higher at this stage of the season. The Rams are top-three in both yards and yards allowed this season, while the Chargers are really struggling on both sides of the ball. This one could get ugly quickly, as the Chargers stay winless. Rams 35, Chargers 6
Denver Broncos (+1.5) Over Kansas City Chiefs
The Broncos defense has earned my trust in the home underdog role, as this matchup could decide the AFC West winner. Bo Nix still needs to have his leash loosened a little bit, but he has consistently done enough to allow the Broncos to claim victory. Kansas City looked dreadful last week against Seattle, and if they couldn’t win that battle in the trenches, they are unlikely to prevail here. Broncos 23, Chiefs 17
New England Patriots (-7.5) Over Miami Dolphins
Congratulations to the Dolphins for winning a game. They took the lead for the first time this year in that one, but that hasn’t made me forget how bad this team really is. Their run game is among the worst in the league, Malik Willis is nothing special, and with more than 50% of their cap space tied up in dead money, there is no hope for anything more this season. The Patriots haven’t looked completely in tune on offense this season, so I expect them to run up the score and easily cover this spread if this one turns into a blowout. No backdoor cover for the Dolphins, as I am not even sure they reach double digits in this matchup. Patriots 27, Dolphins 7
Washington Commanders (-4.5) Over Philadelphia Eagles
The Commanders have a massive rest advantage in this one coming off their bye while the Eagles are on a short week. Once you add in that Washington is getting healthy aside from Terry McLaurin while Philadelphia is falling apart, there should really only be one winner in this one. The Commanders offense is back on track with Jayden Daniels at the helm, while the Eagles five game losing streak isn’t ending anytime soon. Commanders 29, Eagles 15
Seattle Seahawks (-3.5) Over Chicago Bears
The Seahawks shored up their offensive line with the addition of eight-time Pro Bowler Quenton Nelson from the Colts, which will help Sam Darnold stay upright more often. This offense is already cooking with very little help from the offensive line, so this underrated pickup will be enough for them to move the sticks, and stay ahead of the Bears. Chicago plays well with the lead, but when they have to abandon the run in the second half due to the scoreline, the wheels could quickly fall off. Seahawks 25, Bears 11
